Yay, Jon is swinging in action on the 1st day of Jun and we will get to see him performing!

It looks kinda exciting event but the expected crowd of 3000 people is massive, we will be really lost out there... So we gonna be standing sooo faraway from him that we actually can’t see him clearly, have to use binoculars?

We can celebrate Jon’s birthday past midnight on 2 June after the party … an imaginery Jon is there with us, that’s all lor or anything else we can hope for??? At least we can all be together chatting about dear Jon and have lots of fun! Cya soon!

PS: Eve, looks like you must take Mandarin lessons leh cos think Jon will kinda focus on Mando market ... so wish you can also enjoy his Mando songs!

Here's a modest translation done by Yours Truly of the write-up interview with Jonathan that was featured in "My Paper" today. Here it comes :-


In conjunction with My Paper's first birthday celebration, a night of entertainment titled "Scream 07" to wow its readers has been scheduled on 1 June at Sentosa's Cafe del Mar. Amongst the guest performers for that night will be SI Two's runner-up Jonathan Leong. How will Jon whose birthday falls just one day after My Paper's celebrate his own 25th this year? Any memorable birthdays to reminisce about?

Birthdays are not a big issue
Each passing birthday only serves to remind him that he is one year older. As he is not into birthday celebrations, sometimes he does have a tendency to forget both his friends' birthdays and his own too.

Birthday Wish
Having recently completed his exams, he is now hoping that he will have a smooth graduation before embarking on his singing career. Before the year is over, he hopes to have an album released. Till then he is working hard to improve linguistically in the 'Mandarin arena'.

Unforgettable Birthdays
On his tenth birthday he had a flu; as he was not careful he landed up being scalded on the chest with medicine which his mother had brewed for him. This landed him in hospital but it was fortunate that the incident did not leave any scars on the affected areas. Another occasion - it was one birthday during National Service that he had to complete a road march of approx 50 km - as he had an army mate who shared the same birthday as him, they both "celebrated their birthdays together".

Celebrating birthdays with his special gal
His perfect gift for a gal will be to invite her for a meal, followed by a movie and a present. Some of the gifts could include jewellery like pendant earrings or a watch etc. There is also another romantic way of celebrating - invite her family and good friends along (without letting her know) on an overseas trip eg. Japan. The idea was to go on the same trip and spring a pleasant surpise on her while there.

Jon & My Paper
As he has recently completed his exams, he will be taking a vacation overseas before returning to work on his album. A frequent English language-user, Jon is now working hard to improve on the Mandarin language. He credited My Paper as his source of inspiration - the contents are easily readable and especially to someone who is rather weak in the Mandarin language, he has found the newspapers particularly helpful to him. His management agency will sometimes engage him in oral tests. Overall he has acquired some new vocabulary of words through reading the papers and found that he has improved quite a fair bit.
