A fun musical with fresh young talents! New talent Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad is a sweet sight & sings pretty well. Of course, John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Queen Latifah add substance to the fun movie.

I wish I could have seen John Travolta as the papa instead of the mama. If you have seen him danced in “Saturday Night Fever” & "Grease", you would have agreed that we should see him on the dance floor too. Oh and one might suspect that that the sixties might have contributed to our problemed ozone layer with so much hairspray used…hee…hee

That day when I watched this movie, there was a group of secondary school girls who sat in the same row as I. They really made me noticed Zac Efron - each time when Zac gave a wink, the girls would go "oooh....ooh..."; when he sang, they would go "ah...ah..." and when he kissed Nikki Blonsky, they shrieked.....

I was utterly & pleasantly amused & couldn't help but smile at them.
