Title: Jon's 12 Newsletter - November

April - November 5, 2007 11:05 AM (GMT)
Here's Jon's 12th newsletter, to bring us some November cheer! His first newsletter was sent to us last November too! It's been a year, time really flies!

----------------------------------------------------

Hello all!

I hope you guys had a good month, in the blink of an eye the end of the year will be upon us. Lots of you are probably planning or have already made plans for a year end holiday to unwind from the daily routine. If so, I hope you all have a good holiday ahead of you. Be sure to be on your toes in a foreign land though, most Singaporeans take safety for granted and look so "soft " that they are easy targets for crime... I am a bit the paranoid kind when i travel, just so I won't run into any trouble.

Anyway, this month has been ok for me, lots of ups and downs but mainly everyday is about working or trying to get work done (ups are productive days, downs are unproductive days), my hours are centered around learning about the studio and the basics about recording and song writing... thats about my day in day out life for the past month.

I have been getting a lot of the "why is your work taking so long?" kind of questions from most people that i meet and the other day I was thinking to myself that in fact it has not really been a long time. It's been a year since I came to be known as a "singer" but I actually took a break from everything to go back to school for the first half of the year. I also kind of forgot that I have only started the real work in the music business only for about 3 months, tops? Reservist took up the better part of july as well.. so in fact, thinking back, I haven't really had much of a chance to delve into the whole creative process until very recently. But in the few months that I have been in this new environment, everyday i learn that there is so much more than what I thought I know, much more to learn, much more to find out... "I think it's going to take awhile" is a real euphemism in this case. We'll see what happens, yea? There's a really hard battle up front for me.

I managed to take some time off to watch a film called "the heavenly kings", it's a hongkong production about the music industry and I thought it was really well done. Very much the reflection of the industry, it has many interviews with established people in the business and they were quite frank with their opinions. I would recommend that you go rent it if you are interested in knowing about the business. It stars Daniel Wu, I think he directed it as well.

Oh, someone I know happened to tell me about the new forum skin, the new look is really nice, I just took a quick peek at it just now.

Take care,

Jon.

Time has a tendency to stand still when one waits in anticipation. But good things are worth waiting for. Battle ahead? Your fans are there to cheer you on, as always.

Hi Jon

Another heart-warming letter from you.
Thanks for the letter and the recommendation
of the movies.

It is imperative to find our own
points of difference and pursue them with
zeal and lots of sincerity....success will
inevitably follow ...it is only a question
of time.

Hey Jon, you have done well for that new Mandarin number Qing Qian 25.

Will you sing it during the Star Awards show??

All the best.

Can one of us “soft” ladies planning to go a solo-trip be lucky enough to have you for company then?

Thanks Jon for your updates. Have been having you in mind & wondering what’s daily life’s been like for you. It’s really wonderful to have you keep in touch with us with your regular letters.

Yes, year-end’s fast approaching. We shd take stock before it ends – to reflect & review our goals set & resolutions made at the start of the year and try to achieve them (if it’s not too late).

The whole journey of our life involves continuous learning & gaining experiences from the ups & downs. In fact experiencing the hard & difficult moments is what helps make us stronger in character & wiser (hopefully). Besides learning about the environment, it also requires lots of self-improvements that will complement the learning process. Actually, life can’t ever be considered boring, isn’t it because there’s so much that one can do – just need lots of self-determination, self-confidence & self-motivation (along with prayers & faith in God’s guidance). But most of us have to “fight” within ourselves against the sin of laziness.

One needs to keep improving in order to progress. It’s good for oneself and for our nation & economy. Together with your singing Jon, your learning experiences now is already (or at least a start of) a contribution to the progress in the music/entertainment industry, locally & regionally.

So keep it up, Jon! We love you. As always, keep yourself in good health & in good spirits!

Angelyn ;)

PS. Please, please consider including one English track in your album (will leave same msg in HR message board)

lol, angelyn, that was clever. haha.

And hello jon. It's nice to hear from you again. I'll see you are a traveller. Hmm, perhaps next time you write about your travel experiences? I bet it will be very interesting.

Cheers,
louisa
