On Sat, at the Bookfest autograph session, I asked Jon if he will be performing at any countdown event (coz how can we enter 2008 without Jon seeing us into the New Year, right? wink1 wink!). Jon replied that Yes (Yipee!), he will be performing at Punggol with Hady and Rui En.
Later, the Hype staff informed that he had just uploaded the details in the Hype records website and asked me to go and check out the site. So here are the details:
Punggol East Countdown Party
Performances by:
Hady Mirza, Rui En and Jonathan Leong
Time: 2300hrs
Venue: Open Field next to Blk 158D, Rivervale Crescent

I not going for the countdown at Punggol, cos I will be at Vivo City instead... however, I did recce the place earlier today. The tent where the party will be held is just between two temples (and boy does it look small compared to the temples). To go there, u haf to first take MRT to Sengkang MRT station, then go to the LRT station and take the LRT to either Sumbia or Rangar; either station is near the open field.

Just for Jon, will be going to Punggol East countdown even if he won't even know that we are there with the huge crowds.
What you get is his live singing performance treat! Does not matter if its a big or small event. Thats unconditional support for him!
Can always record the vivo countdown or watch the repeat telecast.

But nw decided to count down to 2008 with JON.. ;)

A great start to enter the New Year together with Jonathan! It was a more relax atmosphere at Punggol. The charming MP, Mr Michael Palmer graced the occasion with the thousands of neighborhood residents and also others who find their way there, coming from different parts of the North/East/Central parts of the island to give support and enter the new year with their favourite artistes.
Our favourite, no doubt is Jonathan. There were the Min Choo sisters, Desmond & the percussion band (please excuse me for not getting the names complete or right) and together with Rui En and our pride of Singapore, Hady Mirza. As time was fast nearing midnight, they delivered 2 songs each & didn’t have much time to chat with the audience.
Jon sang 2 English songs which he knew that many of us were longing to hear him sing in English (though actually it would have been a good opportunity to promote his new single to the mostly mandarin-speaking crowd). Jon in his cool, rocker look (hair tied back and full black attire) appropriately sang his 2 ‘signature’ songs “Chasing Cars” and “Should I Stay”. If you had observed him closely, he put in all his feelings when he sang “…would you lie (lay) with me & just forget the world” (Of course, yes, we would, Jon!) Then followed by “Should I stay” and somewhere in the crowd, a familiar voice screamed “Yes, Stay!”
Rui En looked beautiful & sang 2 mandarin songs (my apologies again for not being able to name the titles). Then finally Hady! And out of the blues, we see the HapyHady appeared with their banner with screams. There were loud cheers for him and he was ever so humble and shared his glory with everyone. He sang “Merpati” from his 1st album and “Beautiful Day” which he sang during Asian Idol.
What’s a New Year’s Eve without Resolutions! Glad to get to hear Jon’s resolution for 2008 – “To work hard & write more good songs!”
And finally counting down “10..9..8..7..6...5..4..3..2..1…HAPPY NEW YEAR….”
And a burst of confetti (Jon clearly having fun!) and FIREWORKS lighted up the sky in the open field! A delight to the young & old!
As the fireworks ended! Hands shaking & hugs went round. And to delight of many, Jon stretched out his hands to wish those around him & the glee on some of the Jonatics' faces and along with it was played the heartfelt new year song:

The night went on with more activities & entertainment from Hady while some of us Jonatics living outside of Punggol had to leave to catch the last train & bus.

Pictures time! haha. sorry my camera lighting is really bad so aint able to capture pictures during his singing segment, except the pathetic 2 which i'm posting up. haha!the rest were taken during the counting down part :) where he wad in between ruien & hady :) enjoy!
Yea, someone shouted' JOn you're so cute!' when he left, too bad he din hear it :(
Haha, somehow i miss those days where we'll hear JON you're sexy...wadsoever..haha!
