Alright, I will be going! I just received an email from Allaboutjon stating that they will let me know on ticket collection. Kinda miss the good ol Mediacorp theater liao... :P
And yes, most likely we will be seated at the lower gallery, cos that applies for most variety shows and live recordings for singing competitions like Campus Superstar, Star Search, Live The Dream and of course Singapore Idol :)

Anyone of u who still got posters of Jon Leong which were used during Singapore Idol or at some of his past appearances may want to bring abt 2 or 3 along. :)

It would be good if Jon could participate in a longer Chinese variety series or even acting (maybe 5 to 10 episodes) to give a stronger impact for home viewers to identify with him, and not just a one time performance on each show as that does not leave a lasting impression.

Jon must be working hard on his album right now, guess its tough on him too. We really hope to see a good album from him soon this year. For many of us, believe it would be well worth the wait! His company will definitely have to do more marketing of events & publicity during the time before the launch ... gonna be exciting!

Agree with you Kellyn. One-off sporadic appearances are not going to leave an impact. It was not a bad idea to launch him into the Chinese market by singing that medley of drama theme songs. However, that song seems to be more commemorative to MediaCorp than meaningful to the public. And you know, people can get very tired of hearing a drama theme song as it is aired daily when the serial is running. No one really sings it again once the serial ends.

They could have written a whole new song for him for that collaboration. I believe the effect could be quite different. I hope his management company has a strong, consistent strategy for him, at the same time, not neglecting his non Chinese speaking supporters.

He has other supporters too, who are more subtle, and will not be seen chasing him for autographs.

Having him breaking into acting may not be too bad an idea. Hmmm... the "pai kia" roles? But he should really be concentrating on producing a good album. :)

Yes, agree! I think they should have a good strategy to market Jon to both the English and Chinese music industry. To go regional, they have to reach out to the Chinese market, but there is also a void in the local English music scene. Jon can fill this void; I can totally see the local English market raving about Jon and consistently playing Jon’s songs over the airwaves. What they need is to write some new songs for Jon to sing/ record. During SI judging, it is often commented that it’s the song choice; one must pick the right songs! So, please have a good strategy and get the right songs for Jon. :D

I bought two Qing Qian 25 CD..I dont even understand mandarin. Not at all.
but when I listened to Jon Singing the second song @ Jurong point, what's the tittle? I feel he sang so much much better that the original singer in the CD.

if there is another autograph? I think I would buy another one. Not because I love the CD, but just because my support for Jon.

You are right, we can’t even sing along with him on the commemorative song as it has no continuity of lyrics or melody.

If he does have some time, acting or hosting opportunities which would give him other roles on tv to reach out to more people. Think he will definitely do well in cool dude roles … that’s just being himself!

Not forgetting, during the last President Charity show, Jon with Diya had pulled in the 3rd highest donations, thats no mean feat and proved that he has many supporters out there!

Non-Chinese speaking supporters need not worry. Once Jon has established himself in the Chinese market, he will easily switch back to singing in English. He first need that critical mass that the Chinese market can provide. I don't listen to Chinese pop music before but now I started cos of Jon. :lol:

I have dedicated his medley song on air on a couple of occasions, the dedication was read, the song was not played. How does this thing work?

Having gigs for him is necessary, Eve, but these events must be publicised.

Perhaps Jon should go create some news for himself. How about holding hands with some girl and walking down Orchard Road. Carol...? wink1

NO! Jon should focus on music. Focus is very important as it determines how successful in whatever you do. Heheh, my pastor preached this in service last week. This should be applied to jon's singing career as well!

Having said that, i dun mind seeing him for guest role in dramas either. One is for publicity, the second is to see eye candy aka jon. Haha. But like i said, guest roles only. Not brunching out to acting.

Eve, if we ever start a "Missing Persons" thread, we should also look for Anastasia. I know she hovers around, but wish she would "talk" to us.

Of course, we meant without any doubt Jon's main focus is definitely singing and coming out with his album this year! Ideally would be if he could participate in some singing/variety series.

If he has some time now or later and is comfortable to do it, would be good also to have tv exposure to a wider audience through appearances in acting, co-hosting etc if there are suitable roles as this would help to expand his fan base. Hype needs to work hard to secure such work as he is not with MCS so not easy to get such opportunities.

Anyway, look at the Taiwan pop stars, most are doing that, like F4 and Wu Jun from Fahrenhite who acted and have gained tremendous popularity!

it would be nice to see him in handling a lil of drama,varieties other than singing :)

Jon Leong still comes across as someone who is very self conscious. If he should get into hosting/acting, he would have to shed some of his inhibitions. Nothing wrong with doing different kinds of things, singing, acting, etc. Many people do that.

The onus is on his management company to package him right.
