Hi all

We have been discussing to do the JLFC banners and it’s a great way to show support to Jon.

If you can help in any way or have any creative design and colour scheme ideas, do share with us. This will give JLFC a stronger identity and good visibility at events. We would like to finalise the design by early next week.

FINALLY...!! Long overdue, isn't it? It will be great to have a banner, at least there is some identity. Do we get to see it tomorrow?

By the way, can something be done about this fansite - the fonts still seem a lil' small? :P

I will take the discussion of the Chinese character ʯ¹ã over here so as not to dampen the "high" in the NTUC thread.

This Chinese character means a mineral reserve, or a mine. I guess in ancient Chinese, there was a distinction between metal and stone (quarry) mines. Not surprising that the radical ½ð "jin" or gold was used for one and radical ʯ "shi" or stone for another. Modern day Chinese is using only the character with the ʯ "shi" radical. The rational, I suppose, is that all types of ore and mineral are found edged and molten in the rocks of the earth. Without blasting the rocks, the mineral ores cannot be mined.

However it does depend on the intention of the parents when a name is given.

I saw on TV that Jonathan Leong's name was shown as ÁºÎ° ½ð¹ã¡£ I guess it is good to reconfirm, as a name is like a brand. It should be consistent.

All said, the two characters can be a symbol of strength and determination
