Remember when I was still a schoolkid, a few centuries ago, I chased this HK star all the way to a living abode at River Valley Road. Staked out there with some classmates in school uniform for a few hours.
Some of the residents living there told us to go to school. I still remember what she said, "Why waste your time, children? Stars are ordinary people, like you and I." That fell on deaf ears of course.
Me, and classmates, spent pocket money, collecting mags, memorabilia, whatever. But somehow, we grew out of that phase.
Fast forward, serveral centuries later, I found myself queuing at the MediaCorp carpark waiting to get into the studio to see JL perform. When in the studio, dodged the cameras so as not to appear onscreen. Didn't want my subordinates at work to laugh at me. Silly, right?
Some revelation... ;)
Kellyn - January 31, 2008 06:55 AM (GMT)
Thanks for revealing your teen’s pursuit … haha! Who is this HK star and did you see him (i think) again? You started really young, don’t you? Tell us your other star encounters, this can’t be the only one ya?
You even went in your school uniform, quite daring isn’t? Thinking the world of such stars and collecting their items that were so precious then.
Like what Kai Leng is doing, so buzzzy nowadays chasing many stars … you must keep some energy here okie! ;)
Actually, you were pretty hip then … no wonder now you have the good taste to support Jon! It’s ok lah as long as we are happy and enjoy ourselves.
We really support Jon for more than his good looks and voice, like his intellect, nice personality, kindness …. are some of the many reasons that made us proud of him!
Eclipse - January 31, 2008 10:13 AM (GMT)
How is it that it's just you and I talking? You know what Kellyn, I deliberately left out the name of that HK star, lest I should reveal my vintage. That's as much as I will say,
Kellyn - February 1, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
Oh, that’s just a teaser for you … no answers needed lah! Anw, vintage is gold!
Maybe we got to send a formal invitation out now
Or
Maybe go into lala land with them???

Favourite! Yes, I love LeeHom - so good-looking, so multi-talented, so dreamy! And that’s about all I can say and know of him! Oh and I also know his name is Alexander Wang; yes "AW" same initials as mine. (Wanran is the one who knows a lot more about him).
Of course, I know of Leehom right from the start when he released his first album and of course, I noticed that he was good-looking but why didn’t he catch my attention! Hmm…mm…Why? It must have been when I was busy dating! Ya, that’s right! No! After working the maths, I think I was busy caring for babies!
So when did I start liking LeeHom? It was all because of Jonathan Leong actually. Because Jon was going into Chinese music. So I started listening to mandarin pops & hip-hops and other genre. I started with the more accomplished singers like Jacky Cheung and of course LeeHom, then the newer faces. Because LeeHom is one of those singers who has many albums, so it’s from one album to another and in course of it, I realized & appreciated his voice, his marvelous talent in song-writing, composing and his skills in playing the a number of musical instruments. Oh, I love the way he plays the violin and jazz music on the piano!
Meeting him up-close the last time when he came to Singapore for the release of his latest album “Change Me” really changed me too! Wow!

favourite?
I did like Jerry Yan ( F4). The craziest thing I have done is to go for F4 concert sometimes back in february...dunno which year, prolly 2003...I bought F4 Album, Memorize all the mandarin songs so that I could sing along during the concert. I found myself alone @ the most pit. the 2nd layer, alone. It was my very first time I screamed for an artiste hahaha...
but what I can say, it was just that far. so this is considered : normal...hahahhaa
I Did Like Rain. I watched Full house for more than 5 times. but I didnt do anything. Just that admire how he become so very famous....so this is considered : Normal...hihihi...
overall, I didnt have any idols/artiste that I really chased like crazy. not at all.
even when I was still in Indo.never interested to know more too.
till One fine day...
in Singapore....
I was cooking @ my kitchen....Someone on TV singing. I stopped cooking. I ran to the living room. and there I saw this guy singing : unforgettable.
ah...this is the guy whom I noticed a few episode before @ Singapore Idol season 2.
This guy is superb! very talented. The way He sings is so different. captured on my ears very well. soulful!
a moment later right after that...I found myself alone @ woodland causeway point.
then, I found myself @ the indoor stadium @ the result show SI season 2.
and now...I found myself here...with you guys! Keep supporting this guy forever!
so you know who is this guy, dont u?
one and only, Jonathan Leong!
always keep your supports alive!
Cheers
Eveline

And i bought all of their shows, DVDs and CDs. their DVDs r not so cheap in SG. :( it's cost nearly 90 bucks. Guess what? I save all of my pocket money to buy their DVDs... Usually, i love to buy new dress & shoes with my pocket money. But... now, i dont buy any new dress or shoes anymore. and my mom said "U r really crazyyy!" I think i am. XD There is one DVD that i wanted really much. it's really expensive. 95 bucks!!! today, i checked my piggy back and i only need 30 plus bucks to buy!!!YEHHHHH!!!! ^^ When u reach CD- rama take a look at this DVD called "All about DBSK 2". it's really thick. This is the one i wanted... lolz. All of my frds knw that how crazyyy i m over them. hahaha XD.
grahhhh... how come they didnt come to SG. there r so many fans of them here.
My another fav artist is tawinese boy band called "Fahrenheit" . guess all of u know FRH. :) last year, They came to SG for SG hits award. And i went to see them at singapore indoor. They all look more handsome in real life. and I waited them at Changi airport when they went bk to taiwan... and screaming like a fool until I lost my voice.
I also like nicholas teo. He comes to SG quite often. i've got his autograph... yehhh.. The 1st time i saw him in real life was at JB. I went to JB for his autograph.... lolz. Like most of the artistes (F4, Rain, FRH, Nicholas) mentioned but find it hard to actually come out with even one fav artiste coz never did anything crazy enough for anyone, just too normal and enjoyed watching them on tv or dvd.
Was quite excited by F4 when they first came on the scene esp Jerry, Vic & Vaness are cool except Ken is boring. Rain amazed me with his power in dancing and very exciting to watch him. LeeHom is very talented and Angelyn how has he change you, haha?
Pinky, you are so cute, plastered all your room walls with their posters and traveling all over for them. Can see you are crazy over TVXQ bands. First time I am hearing the name! Their dvds are really expensive. FRH are hot now and each really has their individual style, I like Wu Jun and Jiro. You went to JB to see Nic? He is really the next door goody boy appeal and his voice is gentle and pleasing. You are brimming with so much excitement, its contagious so do chat more on your favs here!
Kai Leng, you are really a local artistes supporter! Jon Toh has disappeared? That’s the problem for winners or finalists of local singing programs, most fade away. Unless, you have a recording company who is willing to invests in you and go regional. Most hope to join MCS which is a safer route, at least you have more exposure on tv and their events. Quite a few have branched out into acting and hosting.
We can have many fav artistes but the difference is there's only one fav idol ...
Jon Leong!!!

Alice Lee - February 10, 2008 01:27 PM (GMT)
Wa! So fast already so many talking about their favs ah. I must not lose out lor..hahaha...
Apart from my evergreen grasshoppers, i love Jay Chou. Got all his albums, music videos, movies, watched all his concerts...that was how I so luckily met Jon and found you gals. Just watched Jay's Kungfu Dunk today, it is soooooooooooo much better then Stephen Chow's "made in China" CJ7 (I am a big fan of Stephen Chow, watched all his movies, and chose CJ7 premiere over Dunk, but feel very cheated after watching, there are only sooooooooooo few scenes of Chow, its all about that China kid!!!)
Cant possibly chase Jay physically anymore, with the army of people surrounding him now, its impossible to get anywhere near. But some years ago, I managed to sneak through his people and got an autograph when he was shopping in one of the malls here. Still remembered he was very very nice, cos when his personal assistant saw me approaching, he pushed me away, but Jay stopped him and spoke to me. He is very sweet. Actually, I think most artistes are nice people by nature, its their mgmt companies that are nasty! Over-protective 200 times!
Jay is a multi-talented guy. He can write, produce, sing, act, and even direct. All in one!
Other than Jay, i like boybands like Energy and 5566. Used to like F4 during the Meteor Gardens days too.
Craziest thing I have done should be the 8 hour queue to shake F4's hands. Cant recall how I survived that ordeal now...
Another crazy thing should be travelling to KL to watch Energy's concert, and booking the hotel room on the same level with them! But, end up didnt get to see them at the hotel becos there were countless very young girls loittering outside their rooms.
I still like Energy and 5566, but dont really run after them anymore (cos no more kakis), only support them in the form of buying their albums.
But now that I have found all of you, I can actively support artiste that I like again!
15th Feb..here I come!!! yahoo

Alice, remembered Jay came to Singapore last time and was doing some shopping in Hereen? It was very nice of him to acknowledge you!
Understand from past interviews that when the recording co. first saw him, felt he was not good looking enough and his mumbling singing style strange, they were initially doubtful to promote him as a singer. But they saw his great songwriting talent, decided to give him a shot at fame and he became an instant mega star! He was also very shy with the media but now gives cool answers with a very good dry sense of humour.
That’s really something, waiting 8 longgg hours for F4 to shake their priceless hands! You probably didn’t wash your hands for days?? Wa, also saw Energy in KL and stayed in the same hotel? Girl, you are so adventurous! Have you done anything fun lately? ;)
Kellyn - March 7, 2008 06:10 AM (GMT)
Pinky, did you watch the “Romantic Princess”? Cutie angela Zhang is acting with Wu Jun. He looks so handsome, his physic is amazingly tone and well tanned. Calvin also looks really good and liking him more after watching the show, he has this sunshine smile that’s very cheerful!
FRF will be doing a Asia concert tour this year and will also be coming to Singapore? Aren’t you excited to see them?
Angelyn - July 9, 2008 01:53 PM (GMT)
...I like this thread 'cos it's an open topic & I can post anytime whenever I recall my favourite memories...
Donny Osmond! Yes, he was my first puppy love. I remember going head-over-heel in love with him. I have a picture of him pasted on the wall of my bedside and like all fanatic supporter, every magazine & picutres of him were preciously kept. I also displayed his poster in my art folio. Even todate, my long-time closed friends who remember my files with posters of him. And how can I not mentioned his favourite purple colour & particularly his purple socks. Yes, the Donny & Marie Osmond Show was a ritual - never missed a show!
So did I miss the Osmond Family 50th Aniversary Concert performing here on 17th June? Yes, I missed it. If I remember correctly, this was their only 2nd time in Singapore. When they last came the 1st time, I was too young to afford. But I'm glad the review of the concert was very good and amongst the brothers, Donny is still the most good-looking.
Such sweet memories smitten
