Hey all. This month zoomed by really quickly, in a blink of an eye I
was reminded that labour day was coming.
The other day I happened to watch a debate program for kids while I
was having dinner and it was a little uneasy to see boys arguing as
they did, I don't know why it made me feel like that but it was very
strange to see the young men bickering among each other... it was
rather unmanly in my opinion. Something about it was disturbing.
Shouldn't they spend their time playing sports or doing more
productive stuff? Modern society... sigh. One of the judges also
really made me feel uncomfortable, I don't know what his name is but I
could swear he was either wearing mascara or false eyelashes... on a
kids debate show. That weirded me out big time. I thought I was
watching ANTM or something.
The end of the month also brings a hallmark event that my friends and
I have been anticipating. The release of GTA4 on the Xbox 360 and the
PS3. I have been an avid fan of the GTA series and have completed
every installment of the game on the PS2. By far this newest
installment is making waves just by its marketing and promotions
alone. It's a good thing I don't have an Xbox360 or a PS3. It would be
such a struggle to get any work done with that game available for me
to play. There's been much debate about the violence and bad
influences that the game has on young gamers and all that. News
articles have been reporting on Rockstar Game's case even on previous
releases. The violent games have ESRB ratings, so I feel it really is
the job and responsibility of the parents to do their job and monitor
what their children play. M rated games are definitely not for primary
school children. Stop blaming the game companies!
Truth is, this month I don't really know what to write about. I am
kinda dry mentally to think about new topics to talk about, I was
arranging one of my songs the whole of yesterday and only went to bed
just before the sun came up. Now that I am awake I am more anxious to
continue work on the how I want my songs to sound like than to be
typing, actually. I am completely new to using music editing software
and arrangements so it's a really steep learning curve. It feels like
I are a one man band and doing this really needs a lot more patience
than I already have.
Anyway, here are this months recommendations, (again, preview them
first before buying them. I don't get any money by recommending this
stuff but I just think they are really good)
* Watch or Read The Hannibal Trilogy (you get different p.o.v.s and
storytelling methods)
* Listen to Audioslave's self titled album.
* Listen to Duffy's "Rockferry"
catch you soon,
Jon

In the nick of time! I have been busy with work and just thought I break away from it for a moment to check out for your letter! So, now my break is a little longer than I planned.
Actually, as a mum, I deliberately refused to hear or understand what’s XBox and what GTA or PS2…etc, etc.. If I had learnt about these stuff, I might have spoilt my sons with them. But nothing can stop them of course from exploring alternative games via the internet, right?! Closer to these terms, I’m more familiar with KBox, GIA, PSA & ERPs.
Truly appreciate that you still make an effort to write whatever’s on your mind despite not really knowing what to write about. Ooh…you’re still writing songs…an English one, perhaps… Very important, do keep backups if you’re storing your work in the computer!
Keep going! Jiayou!
Angelyn

That program is indeed super strange. It looks worse when one of the participant is taller and bigger than the other, gives the impression that the shorter one is being bullied. Silly program indeed.
Nice to "hear" from you, but it should not be an obligation is there is really nothing to write.
Cheers.

Hi All
The person that Jon was talking about is Dr K K Seet. Today I happen to catch some bits of the show, and the camera zoomed to Dr Seet's face - gosh... I told my husband that I thought he was wearing eye make up!.. Jon's comment confirmed what I saw.... also watch how his hand sweeps his fringe.
Yes, it is always good to hear from Jon... I hope we can all meet him ane each other again.....
I still think of last year's birthday party for Jon....
Cheers

But KK Seet has always been like that
The English debates are still not so bad ...
the bickering is worse for the Chinese debates. rolleyes:

Hey Jon
Good to hear you are working on your songs and getting inspirations in the still of the night! When the moods get in, you tend to forget the time and just can’t stop going on! Oh, you gotta learn the new music software with “great patience” …?
“Truth is, this month I don’t really know what to write about” …. like your frankness and honesty and somehow a nice feeling like you are talking to us like friends! Can imagine sometimes when you run out of things to write, so thanks for the effort. We are just happy to hear from you!
Wondering if there's any events in Jun being a school holiday month? Its been quite awhile not seeing your appearances, so we really look forward to seeing you soon!
Cheers
Kellyn
