Title: Jon's 20th Letter : July 2008

eveline - August 3, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
hi All,

here's July Letter from Jon...

Enjoy...^_^

Eve

----

Hi everyone,

Sorry the letter is a little bit late. I have been in pretty occupied
mentally with a whole bunch of other stuff and I did not have the
frame of mind to write this letter. This month moved even faster than
the last, it wasn't a great month, but ups and downs are pretty normal
yea? It will all come to pass.On the upside, I was pretty productive
writing wise and I had quite a number of song ideas that hope to put
into use in the future. I've been fiddling with this music recording
software called "Logic Pro 7".. its really a tough nut to crack! I've
kinda got the basics down but it really takes lots of time and
studying to get to learn how to use it well. Not to mention the
musical knowledge!

On the leisure side of things, the only thing worth talking about this
month is definitely The Dark
Knight. Ridiculously good movie. I think its safe to say that its my
film of the year. I have been a joker fan ever since I was 7 so I was
really excited about watching this film. Acting in such big budget
action films must be really fun for those involved.

On the music side of things, I have the new coldplay album and i think
I need to give it a few more spins before I come to a conclusion as to
whether its better than the previous ones. But to be fair, for a band
that has churned out so many hits with such a distinct flavour we
should go easy on them and let them express themselves. Also, I have
been receiving a couple of copies of new Taiwanese crooner
Jam Hsiao's album, So just a heads up, don't get me his album. I already
have
more than one! Put the money to better use, like saving it to buy
mine. Kidding. I caught Eason Chan's Moving On concert and he was
really really entertaining. I am not really for the dancing and all
that change of costumes every few songs but he really has a good voice
and he has a nice collection of hits.
This month I watched a couple of dvds when I had time to spare, my
pick of the month is Il postino, its a good film, with good music and
great acting. Go rent it if you have time to relax for a few hours.

Oh, I have heard of a chinese version of Myspace for those who sing
chinese songs and all that... does anyone know what the site is
called?

Take care.
Jon.

Dearest Jon

Thanks for writing even though it may be a bit late. I’m always looking forward for your letters! Even though I may be quiet in emails and in the forum lately but you are in my thoughts and prayers always! smitten

Although it may be a challenge but it’s always good to be learning new skills and it’s great that you have this opportunity to learn the Logic Pro 7. I’m glad that you been productive in your writing and really look forward to hearing your songs in future. How about another special get together where you can perform for us more of your compositions? wink1 We miss you dearly!

I really enjoyed The Dark Knight too and wouldn’t mind watching the movie again and again and having a batpod and batmobile! wink1 Ahh…I remember you shared previously about being a joker fan and in my first ever photo with you, you were wearing your joker T-shirt! Mmmmm……dangerous dancing with the joker!

Take care & jia you! :D

Sincerely with love & hugs
Carol

Hi Jon,

Thanks for keeping in touch.

Each National Day, I can't help but think that you'd be most appropriate to sing the theme song. I hope that it will happen soon. Or perhaps at the Youth Olympics opening (the closing would be great too!).

Best wishes as you put together what we hope are the final touches to your debut album.

P/S: I caught Dark Knight as well - the only Batman film that I didn't sleep through! Great movie. wink1

You have received a couple of Jam's album.
I was told he is your look alike
Must go & check it out but I'm sure he doesn't have your unique vocals. :D

Hello Jon!

Really good to hear from you!

Young or old – learning never stops. Login Pro 7 – wow, interesting music software! Amazing how composition of music has evolved! “Idiots” like me will probably take even longer to figure out the software. Hands-on training & try-out is always the best way of learning, yea!

Since you have more than one of Jam Hsiao’s album, can I have one, please! (kidding). I’ve been thinking of getting it. Heard & seen a lot of promo on him recently. Seems pretty good! His recent performance at Taiwan showcased him and he’s quite talented with the guitar, piano & drums (if I remember correctly). He’s not the dancing type though (which I really don't mind 'cos then the focus is on his voice). I enjoyed his performance. Frankly, what caught my attention was that he looks alot like you. It made me imagine you perform in your own concert, wow in Taiwan! (I wish this to come true for you!)

Have you been spending some patriotic time watching NDP’08? I should guess so. This coming Sunday, there’ll be the NDP Heart Rock Concert which will feature artistes singing the Beatles songs. Hope to see you there, somewhere, I hope (amongst the crowd).

Guess you know by now the Chinese version of Myspace? For the benefit of those who like to know, it’s www.myspace.cn.

Hope to see you soon
