The Upper Level
Irichan is almost like a step pyramid or a ziggaurate. The Upper Level is the largest area next to the Plateau. It houses the Queen Dragon of the Weyr, and was built with Airunth in mind. The only person who occupies this space is Merope, and hell hath no fury like an angry Merope after you're ascended to her level without reason. Only special bronze riders are allowed to visit without just cause.

The Bronze Weyrs
These lavish halls are home to the Bronzes of the Weyr, as well as their personal attendants and optional harem. Ridiculously over-decorated and ornamental, only the Queen's Weyr is more comfortable and ornate. Coming up here is allowed for Browns, though a Blue would need a reason and a Green both a reason and a death wish to even land on the ledge.

The Brown Level
These medium-sized weyrs are designed for the Browns. Larger, more comfortable ones are available for those favored by the Bronzes and Gold, while the smaller ones are reserved for those less appreciated by the leaders. Certain Brown riders don't mind anyone being here, though others can get pushy.

Service Level
Storerooms, records, and everything else is found here. Anyone is allowed inside, though it is preferred you be there for a purpose or one of the watchers will kick you out. Loitering is not appreciated.

Housing
On this level, the paltry hovels of the drudges, the not-much-better home of the Candidates, and the just-barely-tolerable quarters of the Weyrlings are found. Feel free to lurk around on the floor. If you see something you like, make sure it's drudge, candidate, or Green/Blue Weyrling before you take a snap, eh?

General Area
Kitchens, housing, and other nonsense is found here. It's close to the steam-machines in the blue/green Weyrs, so it's often dirty and loud. It is not unusual to find most members of the Weyr socializing on this level. Sometimes while here, it even seems that the social order created by society doesn't exist. Those moments are fast and fleeting, however, and are usually broken by a Bronze rider or Merope.

Hatching Sands
It's almost part of the general area, but not really. The topmost level of the Stands opens to the outside, giving an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. On one wall, there is the symbol of the church. Beneath said symbol is a small door for getting in and out of the Sands, though it's open only for drudges, aids and candidates involved in the hatching. Spectators are told never to leave the Stands unless they somehow Impress. Because of the crowds, this rarely happens.

The Underground
Beneath the ground, there are two things.
First is the steam machine that powers the Weyr. The other is the housing for the Weyr's Blues and Greens.
Whether it's a disease-ridden fleapit where not even the drudges sleep or a 24/7 party depends on who you talk to. Either way, it's filthy and usually unbearably hot in the summer. It's not a pretty place to live, and the poor dragons kept in confinement are often upset because they live below-ground.

Topaz Outpost
Sentries of Topaz are always on guard to protect the city of Rabastre as well as Irichan from possible harm by Thread or airship pirates. Run by Lady Rushera and her brute of a boyfriend L'har, Topaz should be rising up in excellence. However, since Irichan was founded, tribute to Topaz has been waning and is almost shut off entirely. The rocky soil is hardly arable, and the whole of Topaz is on the verge of both bankruptcy and starvation.

Rabastre
Or the filthiest city on Pern, next to Birta Hold.
Rabastre is built halfway into a mountain. Only the industry is outside, and it spans almost the entire mountain-valley. The large river running through the city is polluted and disgusting. But hey, here in Rabastre, a dragon is a dragon. You'll get free stuff wherever you go.

The Marchon Spine
This part of the Southern Mountains where Irichan is located is more difficult to traverse than any other part. Dragons have no problem crossing through. There are rumors that the Cult meets somewhere in the range of valleys, but none have been able to prove this.

Atlantis
The furthest tip of the Southern Continent is hidden behind a large, water purifier and many mountains. The only way in is through the gates: SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH they read. Upon first glance, this place seems abandoned. But this is the only place safe from it all: the only place where Dracol can never reach. The dolphins remember; the dolphins know.

Arestal
Past the Marchon Spine is Arestal, the cleaner, brighter city. It's a major trading post with an emphasis on dog-breeding and other livestock. It's set in the Rolean Valley of the Marchon Spine and borders Tuchere. The Marikael River runs through it and ends in Orasa lake. Most energy is hydroelectric or wind-powered, so it isn't as energy-hogging as Rabastre.

Garnet Ruins
This crumpled tower and series of walls is what remains of the Garnet Outpost. The insignia added by Tahlhara is still there, carved into the stone of the main gate: "Prospers Thus the Dragon Weyr". Few come here, as some say it's haunted.
Recent attempts by I'en have made Garnet a bit more pleasing, and it should be up into full functionality by next year, if progress continues.

Amethyst Tower
A beautiful tower touches the sky, surrounded by lush farm lands featuring fruits as big as dragon-eyes. The Amethyst Tower separates itself from the ruined Garnet Outpost and the barren Topaz Outpost by its lushness and the many herds kept in tow by the herders of Amethyst Outpost.

The Bazaar
The market area of Arestal is set along the Marikael River that runs through from Tuchere Valley. Many tents have been set up, and breeders from Shaltiri have placed aside a large pen to display some of the most elusive and exotic creatures on Pern: the Shaltiri Riding Wherries. Rumor has it that you can also find a fire-lizard booth here. Besides those attractions, you can also purchase clothes, food, and whatever else you want in this area.

Main Street
Several shops of more high-quality items (read: Shaltiri or Master craftswork) have been set up outside of the usual Arestal main street haunts. In one of the crossroads, however, a large platform has been set up and various street performers come here to perform. The Soeili plan to perform The Ballad of Moreta's Ride, which, while corrupted by the Church, has become one of the more famous visual experiences of the Soeili. Rumor has it that they will also tell of the Cleansing. Until then, it's simply a place to meet friends.

The Temporary Resident Quarters
The field has already been harvested, and tents have been set up. Irichan weyrfolk and the Bibliophilia clutch have found temporary residence here, and the dragon ledges above house dragons from distant Outposts and Weyrs. Most of it resembles a gypsy encampment. However, there is a hulking tent that seems to loom over the others. The fact that the outer tent is bloodstained gives all the hint to the residents within...

Restaurant Ward
Not only can you find restaurants here, but you can also find independent booths set up. Food and fun is guaranteed, and no one, not even the street urchins, will go hungry while this area is active. What no one shows you are the slaughterhouses beyond, where animals are killed for the masses and other unfortunate souls are prepared for Fort's Weyrwoman.

Dancing Platform
Whether its loudspeakers streaming radio from Rabastre or actual performers, the dancing platform is always open for anyone to take a twirl. It is a wide section of streets set aside for simply the purpose of dancing, and the convenient lack of the Sky Tram lines make it the perfect place for such pastimes.

Short-Term Role Playing
You want to host a hatching? Or has your heart yearned for gold, but none on Irichan have looked your way? Perhaps you're a fantasy role player in general and just want to play something non-DRoP related. Or your wolf role player side wants to get out and howl. It doesn't matter what you RP here. This part of Irichan is to allow someone to have RPs where you're certain to get people who don't have obnoxious font, and when you have to leave, the RP doesn't end.
