"Rika! Aren't you ready yet?" Ch'kka yelled from the ledge of his sister's weyr. He was currently dressed for the beach, so it was obvious there would be no betweening. Instead, he and Rikaki planned on a leisurely flight to the shore where they could spend the afternoon swimming. However, he had been waiting for 15 minutes now with Chizarith and Beonith out on the ledge and he was growing tired of waiting.
"Just a minute! I still need to tie my top!" was the shouted reply from inside.
Ch'kka groaned. Rika's love was skimpy things did grow annoying at times. She did have good taste, though, he noted as she finally walked out. She was dressed in a very small bikini with a wrap-around skirt that covered her hips and the bottom of her swim suit. His twin hadn't bothered to spike her short hair, which would have been a waste of time anyway, considering that they were going swimming today.
"Nice color," he complimented, noticing the way the green of the suit brought out the color of her eyes.
"You too," she replied with a laugh. Ch'kka's swim trunks were the exact same color.
"Well, great minds do think a like, yes?"
Nodding, Rikaki climbed about Beonith, strapping herself in. "Remeber, we stay low. I don't want to freeze by going too high up in the air, thank you very much."
Grinning in agreement, Ch'kka motioned for Chizarith to take off. They were soon followed by Rika and Beo, who were soon flying beside the Brown and his rider. The twins had a preferred area of beach that had both nice sand and warm rocks for the dragons, and it was to this spot that they headed. After about half an hour's wort of flying, this choice area came into view, causing Rikaki to break out in a smile. She and Ch'kka didn't even have to tell the dragons, for the two were already spiraling down to neatly land.
The two riders slid off and quickly removed their dragons' gear so the two would be comfortable. Once they were free, they went to sun on the rocks for a while. Rikaki removed her wrap, laying it in a spot where it wouldn't get wet before heading to the ocean waters that called to her so seductively. Rolling his eyes, Ch'kka soon followed. He always cherished the time when they could spend time together.
The warmth of Rukbat's light was enough to put Mari to sleep. Her marine-blue eyes blinked lazily as one hand shielded her face. Sand was just beginning to work it's way through her towel, the tiny grains grating against her coppery skin. Mari sighed and stood up to shake off the sand only to be blasted by a strong gust of wind. Her dark-brown hair flew every-which-way, and the Blue-rider was nearly knocked off her feet. She cast a glance over her shoulder and frowned.
"D'you mind not trying to blast me into oblivion with your wingbeats, Grenth?" she teased, her frown quickly changing into a grin. The midnight blue dragon settled on his haunches after his quick landing, scanning the shore for a better place to sun himself.
Sorry.
Grenth was always short with his words, except on the off occasion that he'll actually keep up a conversation with his rider. Mari understood this, and didn't mind the mutual silence between them. More was understood through their bond rather than with words.
Still, she continued to babble, though mentally this time. Just teasing, wherry-head. Grenth responded with a gentle nudging of his mine with his head. Mari laughed aloud, scritching his eye ridges with her fingers. Her Blue, though serious, was really just a big softie. With a quick kiss on his snout, Mari shook her towel and trotted off down the beach. Grenth followed at a slow, loping gate.
The Blue-rider found an adequate spot near a large boulder, a perfect sunning spot for her Blue. She adjusted the dark blue halter top of her bikini, and dusted off the shorts she wore as bottoms. Her flat belly was exposed, deceiving one to think that she was younger than her thirty-five turns.
Mari glanced up for a moment to spot two other figures on the beach a short distance away. "Heeeeey!" she called to them, waving with one hand. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to identify who it was. Their dragons were with them, a Brown and a Green.
It's Beonith and Chizarith. Grenth informed her promptly while clambering onto the boulder and curling up comfortably. Mari remembered the name Chizarith at least. Grenth had tried to win her in one of her flights, but hadn't succeeded. It was probably good that he hadn't, since Mari preferred men.
