Title: Aftermath
Description: He just doesn't give up

K'ren, though his pride was bruised, continued to grin at the hastily retreating form of Aade. He thought it best not to follow after her, lest she struck at a more vulnerable area next. He had stirred the greenrider up enough for one day and he was certain she would avoide him for many days to come, not that she didn't already. He never meant any ill-meaning towards her, though he did tend to get carried away. She sure did carry a heavy hand, he thought as he lazyily rubbed his stinging cheek again.
You deserved that. Rakoth put in, sensing his rider's thoughts.
As I have every other slap I've received. The bronzerider replied nonchlantly. He had been turned down in much the same way by many women, and normally he leaves them alone after such an encounter, but Aade somehow just wasn't so easy to resist. Pretty as she was, there were plenty of women just as beautiful he could find more success with. There was just something about her...
K'ren continued to stare in the direction of the main entrance where Aade had left, now long out of sight, hand resting lightly on his face. To anyone passing he would appear to seem lost or dazed.

Asvia...
ZzZzZzZz
Asvia?
No response.
Asvia!
The shout of her name made the bundle of furs flail right off the bed and on to the floor. A scowling woman poked her head out of the mess, curls everywhere on her head as she glared at the head of Estoith which was poking into the weyr from his ledge outside. "Yes, Es?" she growled out.
I want a bath.
Asvia felt the urge to throw a boot at the over-grown wherry. Instead, she straightened and made her way to where she could wash up and dress of the day. She'd yet to have breakfast, but that was ok. She often went without in the morning, preferring to have an early lunch. Once she had dressed in her leathers, she went downstairs to grab some klah, knowing Estoith would head for the lake as soon as he saw her out in the bowl.
Yawning, the woman made her way outside, so out of touch with everything that she almost ran into a man who was simply standing in the way. Abruptly stopping before him, the Bluerider had to fight to keep from spilling hot klah everywhere. Once she had the liquid under control, she breathed a sigh of relief before looking up at the man she had nearly run over? "Umm...are you ok?" she asked, one eyebrow arched in amusement at his dazed expression and red cheek.

K'ren with his mind still elsewhere hadn't noticed being nearly stumbled on by a woman, only becoming away of her presence when she spoke up. "Hm?" He blinked suddenly and looked at her with his dark brown eyes, hand still placed on his cheek. Habitually the bronzerider absorbed her appearance with a quick once-over with his eyes of her entire profile, head to feet. His immediate thought was that she was pretty.
Suddenly his expression changed and he whirled around to face her full on. His hand dropped from his face, the mark by now a faded pink but still plainly visible, and beamed at the newcomer with a toothy grim. "Why greetings my lovely lady." He almost purred, his eyes fixed on her own blue eyes. "I am doing wonderful now that you have arrived." He added as his grim widened a little bit more. He could hear Rakoth in his mind give off a mental snort that signaled be careful.

"What an intelligent comback." she murmured to herself, grinning as he responded to her question with a 'Hm?'. Once the man had noticed her, he gave the impression of looking her over from head to feet. Placing one hand on her hip, she snorted. "Do you want me to show you my teeth too?" she asked, rolling her eyes. And then the man seemed to do a complete 180, grinning at her and acting charming. "Lovely lady, hmm? I've never been called that before." She laughed slightly, eyeing the man once more. He was tall with pretty long hair, and he did have a nice body. And from the way he was acting, he obviously loved women. A shadow suddenly crossed above them, causing Asvia to look up and remember why she was out here in the first place. "Oh, uh, sorry. But I have to get down to the lake. My dragon wants to be washed." sje told him with an apologetic smile.

K'ren had the feeling hadn't thought so well of her first impression of him, judging by her sardonic responses. Well, he had been just standing there stupidly in the middle of the Weyr Bowl. What more could she expect? Nonetheless he was going to show her his true charm. "Yes, you are lovely. There's no denying that." He replied with a wink. She seemed to have lightened up to him at this point after she did her own survey of him.
"To the lake? Well, it'd be a shame to end this acquaintance with you so soon so I shall accompy you." He said quickly, clapping his hands once and nodding. The woman had no say in this matter. If only he could convince his lazy bronze to leave his sunny ledge.
There is nothing in it for me. Rakoth stated matter-of-factly. Estoith is a blue.
K'ren sighed inwardly, but didn't allow it to surface for the viewing of his new companion. You are an old wherry. You will be getting a bath. Besides, there just might be a pretty green down there anyway. He retorted, his last sentence ending suggestively. He knew that pricked his dragon's intrest, though the bronze tried to hide it.
I will go, but I will expect a hard scrub from you. the bronze tried to make his submission sound as if he was in it purely for the bath and not for the chance of interacting with some of the Weyr's greens.

She shrugged. "Come if you wish." she said, not caring either way. Knowing he'd be following, she didn't look back at him. Instead, she savored her klah as she headed for the lake. When she arrived, Estoith was already in the water with Mica flitting around him. She paused at the lake edge, then looked back at the male rider. "I didn't introduce myself, did I? My name is Asvia, and this is my Blue, Estoith." she told him, setting aside her now empty klah cup. As she waited for Estoith to get done with his soak, she looked back to the rider. "Am I going to get a name from you at all anytime soon?" she asked.

K'ren followed the woman rider like an obedient canine, grinning still but fading stlightly. She seemed quite disinterested. No matter, he wouldn't be discouraged and continued on his way to the lake, stepping close behind the bluerider. From this view he got to admire how she walked; she had a way of swinging her hips and he assumed this was naturally how she walked.
When they reached the edge of the lake she turned to him, introducing herself as Asvia. He could have inquired his bronze of her name, but he preferred to hear it first from her. Before he could supply his own name she impatiantly asked about his own. "A woman who likes things stright up. I like that." He said with a smirk, but quickly added before she could retort. "K'ren of bronze Rakoth." As if his name was the cue, Rakoth glided over and landed a short distance off near the water, far enough away to avoid blowing dust into everyone's face from the disturbance of his enormous wings.

She smiled at him. "Yes, I do like things that way. I see no reason for beating around the bush." she replied, smile widening as she got his name. She noticed how he had very quickly added his name, as if he didn't want her speaking. Well, she suppose she did barb her words at times, so this was acceptable from him. As His Bronze glided over, she turned to regard him. He really was lovely to look at. "He's beautiful." she murmured, eyes fixed to the dragon. There was a sudden snort from Estoith which had Asvia grinning again. "No, you aren't beautiful, you wherry head. You got me up too early." she accused the Blue, who shrugged and brushed the comment aside as if he was used to that kind of thing from his rider...which he probably was.

"No truer words spoken." K'ren replied. She seemed to him quite a blunt person. He didn't mind this aspect too much, really. At her comment towards his bronze he glanced over at Rakoth, who began to unfurl his wings in a show, knowing he was being admired. "Be careful. Things said to him like that tend to go straight to his head. It's hard enough to keep him humble without others gushing over him." He teased, smirking at the bronze's antics.

Asvia shot an amused glance K'ren's way. "Isn't that true for all Bronzes? Actually, its probably true for most dragons. I know that Estoith will gain a larger ego from praise." she told him, folding her head behind her back as she rocked on her heels. She didn't like to stay still for too long, for some reason. She just had to be moving or doing something. She supposed it was the active part of herself. Looking away from K'ren, she eyed her Blue. "Ok, you, enough of a soak. Come out of there so I can reach you." Grumbling, Estoith obeyed and slunk out of the water, the liquid streaming off of his hide. The minute he was out of the water, Mica was attacking his hide with sand, scrubbing just enough to make the dragon groan in pleasure.
Eckos - April 3, 2007 04:15 AM (GMT)
"Yes, I do believe that all dragons are like that, in some form or another." K'ren replied simply and continued to eye his bronze who was holding himself regally as if before a panel of judges. The rider shook his head and turned away, this time looking at Asvia's blue. The smaller dragon was a very appealing shade of midnight blue. He was always fond of darker colors. "Despite what she says, Estoith," He began, speaking directly to the blue. "you are quite handsom."
Rakoth rumbled in disapproval at this statement from his rider, whom ignored the bronze's arrogance. The blue was ready for scrubbing now and filed out of the water, almost reluctantly, and his rider immediately applied sweet sand to his soaked hide. Seeing the blue's pleasure in this, Rakoth huffed and padded into the water to prepare himself for his own wash. The larger dragon was forced to wade quite a disatance from the shore before he was able to comfortably imburse himself fully beneath the cool blue water of the lake.

I like him.
Asvia snorted as she stepped forward to help Mica with the scrubbing. "You would." she muttered aloud, rolling her eyes. "You like anyone who compliments you." When Estoith gave no sign of protest, she laughed lowly, lips curving up in an amused smile. "You always do find ways to make me smile." she added, patting his side before returning to scrubbing.
As she heard the heavier steps of the Bronze, she paused to watch him sink into the water. He really was a big dragon, she noted. She glanced back at K'ren, grinning at him. "If you help me with Estoith, I'll help you with Rakoth." she offered, trying to persuade K'ren. She'd never been able to help wash a Bronze before. In fact...she'd never washed a dragon besides Esoith, come to think of it. Well, that would certainly have to be remedied.
Eckos - April 3, 2007 04:07 PM (GMT)
K'ren glanced back at Asvia as she spoke, suggesting of a proposal for washing their dragons. He grinned in acknowledgement to this and nodded his head and approached the blue. "That is an excellent idea. Rakoth is quite a chore to wash alone." He replied, picking up a rag and placing sweetsand on it before applying it to the blue's soft hide. What better way to get to know someone, he thought to himself.
You had best be thorough with two of you. Rakoth stated plainly, eyeing the pair of humans on the beach from his location in the water.
K'ren laughed quietly at this. I am always thorough. You are just picky. the bronzerider retorted, then turned his attention back to Asvia who was already absorbed in her chore. "Where did you come from, before finding your way to Kharasi?" He questioned her, voice casual as he rubbed his cloth deep into the blue hide before him.
