The cold of between always left D'cam with a slight shake in his left hand, even with all the clothing he wore (more then usual); he still shook. Shards, was it him or did that blasted nothing-ness get colder every time!?
Antweth chuckled, a deep resonate in his mind, then spoke {You complain to much. The between is no colder then before. You are only wanting to find something to huff and puff over. Now pay attention, we are here. Look some what Rider like, and not like some silly gawking Candidate.}
}And since when did you become my mother?{ he retorted, but the brown below him gave no answer, only a last chuckle, a last piece to the conversation. Of course, why the dragon was being so giddy was beyond his rider for maybe a few split seconds, before the reason became evident.
D'cam held tight as the brown beast dove down, wings tucking into his sides as he headed for the ground. }UP ANT' UP!{ he cried, he may be a rider, but he hated sharp dives. He closed his eyes, and then felt his stomach rise as the dragon spread its great leathery wings and they slowed, flying low across the lake, the beasts talons skimming the water, sending it hissing up, wetting D'cams face.
}YOU!{ he yelled, and Antweth winced, swerving slightly at the suddenness, } By the Egg, Ant' you gave me a scare!{
{But your not complaining any more. You are much more Rider like when you've had a little shock running through your veins}
}I should have traded you for a sharding flit when I had the chance{ he replied darkly, and Antweth gave a draconic smile, but said no more.
In this breif silence, both dragon and rider glanced around, taking in this new, and much alive home. It made his heart ache terribly to see such a place, so alive, not hindered. It was almost to perfect.
He inhaled deeply as they came to the end of the lake, his dragon slowing with a silent calmness, faceted eyes whirling blue and green. D'cam knew what that meant. Just like himself, Antweth was excited, but almost jealous of the life here.
"Let's make ourselves announce, shall we?" he asked as he climbed off the beast, who hummed lightly before raising his head and opening his maw, letting a loud bugle into the air, now it would be know there was a new dragon here.
{Now, we wait. Its a lovely place Mine, I think you will like it here...}
}Yeah. But I am still going to see the old Weyr out of the corner of my eye, and when I turn, its going to disappea--{
The brown swung his great monstrous head around, bumping his rider, pressing his head into the mans stomach. {Relax, Mine. Make new memories.}
He smiled and scratched the dragons eye ridges. Right. New memories.
