(Work in Progress)
General Information:::
Dragons are large, six limbed creatures with four legs and a pair of wings. They do not have scales, but instead have a hide that is soft and needs to be oiled daily. Their eyes are multifaceted and set so that they have a huge range of vision all around, and protrude slightly out of the head so as to see above for thread. They have headknobs (similar to a giraffe), and are muscular with shorter forelimbs and longer powerful back limbs.
Upon hatching, a dragon may be anywhere from the size of a large dog to a small pony(depending on color) and must be kept well fed throughout the day, and oiled. Their growth becomes more steady after two months, and they continue growing till they are 18 months.
Golds
They are the egg-bearers, and range from 38-43 feet in length. Their hides are yellow-golden in color, and most tend to hold a vibrant sheen. They clutch anywhere from 11-40 eggs, usually over 20 eggs during threadfall. Queens can rise as often as twice a turn, or once every two or three turns depending on the amount of other queens, and rank. Some short flights and bad conditions can make for smaller clutches and eggs that do not hatch, but these happen rarely. Golds are massive, and range in body type to lithe to rather bulky depending on bloodlines.
Bronzes
Bronzes are the preferred mates for the queen, and tend to range from 35-38 feet in length, though some may grow a bit larger.(special permission) Their hides are a greeny gold color, and can be rather pale, or quite dark. Bronzes, even if they are closer to the color of a brown, are usually have a more glossy sheen than most dragons. They only Impress to heterosexual men. The ideal bronze is invisioned to be huge and lithe, though some have proven to be quite the powerhorses.
Browns
They are the middle-sized dragons at 30-35 feet, though some may grow to the size of a small bronze (special permission). The larger ones even have a chance at catching a queen, though unless the brown is large for his color, the flight would be short and there would be few eggs. There is never a gold egg in a brown/gold flight. They Impress to heterosexual or bisexual men. Bisexual riders will have a dragon generally uninterested in flying queens, and in the case that the rider is homosexual, there will be no drive whatsoever for it.
Blues
Blues are, for their size, rife with stamina, but some of the smaller blues may not be able to last an entire fall. The ones that are more compact are capable of lasting an entire fall, but those that are more built like greens will have to take their leave with the greens halfway through the fall. Blues usually are around 25-30 feet in length, and Impress to any sexuality of either male or female. They show preference to males at times, but they have little problem finding a rider amongst females. They fly green dragons and have never shown interest in golds.
Greens
They are lithe and flighty with amazing dexterity. These female dragons can never last an entire fall, and can definitely feel that they have been to their limits even just halfway through. The greens are often rallied by the smaller blues that make sure they don't overfly themselves in threadfall. They come in any shade of green, and are usually 20-25 feet in length. They Impress to males and females of any sexual preference, though it is a common stereotype that homosexual, feminine males Impress to greens. They do not clutch. and they rise to mate anywhere from once every 4 sevendays to maybe once every 2 to 3 months depending on the promiscuity of the rider.
