Title: Summer

wintersonata - August 28, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
Name: S'mer
Gender: male
Age: 17
Sexual Preference: heterosexual
Rank: apprentice Harper, weyrling

Appearance: Although S'mer towers over his peers at a terrifying height of six and a half feet, his lanky limbs give him the look of someone who was stretched out on a laundry line, and altogether make him seem a bit comical. He actually seems to be a bit ashamed of his height, and can often be found slouching with his hands in his pockets to make himself seem as short as possible. He keeps his tufty, feathery blonde hair at shoulder length so that it hangs over his hazel eyes, giving him the appearance of being very mysterious and charming.
Personality: S'mer is quiet, but not shy; he's secretive, but he's not a loner. He's a boy who has always had to push his past behind him to get through to the next day, always pushing onwards to overcome what troubles he once knew. He often plays his harp as an outlet for his emotional troubles.
History: S'mer began as an apprentice Harper at the age of 12. He quickly built up an amazing skill for playing the harp, but simply refused to sing because of a brutal teasing that occurred in his childhood. When the time for his test to journeymanship came, S'mer excelled in harp playing, but because he could not (or would not) sing, his superiors told him that the best he could do at the Hall was to take up a job as a harp instructor. A dragonrider who had come to watch the tests sensed a future for S'mer in a Weyr setting, and with S'mer's enthusiastic consent, brought him to Kharasi Weyr.
9/4/07: S'mer arrives at Kharasi Weyr
10/27/07: S'mer Impresses brown Tedyluth (Iolath/Behemath)
Family:
--Selene, S'mer's mother, is a journeywoman Healer. She is a joyful, uplifting woman, and she strives to pass on her happiness to anyone she can.

Dragon: brown Tedyluth
Appearance: Tedyluth is a gorgeous chocolate brown all over, with spots of lighter tan on his belly, and freckle-like markings on his neck, tail, and wings. He is stocky and medium-sized with larger feet than usual. Because of this awkward situation, he tends to look like he's waddling when he walks, but someday he hopes to be a graceful and agile flier. (picture)
Size: small
Personality: Tedyluth is the fun part to S'mer's sometimes stoic manner. He's generally lighthearted and humorous, but he can be serious when the situation calls for it.
--[weyrling] He's a quiet and pleasant dragon, opting for silence most of the time so he can listen to the wind and how it plays across the water, or the fluttering wingbeats of firelizards. He loves to lay in the sun and muse about the wonders of the world. He's more likely to talk about the way the grass feels so nice under his feet than to be curious about why lessons are so boring. He is a very caring dragon and looks out for his brothers and sisters and his rider S'mer.

Accepted! I'll allow his exceptional height since I do in fact like the character, and tall people -do- exist.. even at that height without necessarily having pituitary issues.. I'll just make sure it doesn't become a habit. Hehe.

I don't think he'd necessarily be 'kicked out' of harpering because he couldn't or wouldn't sing. I'm sure there are other fields such as a teaching field that didn't necessarily involve singing he could go into, but I do agree that he wouldn't reach the caliber of any high rank, and even have trouble going into journeyman status.. but I don't think they'd kick him out ;D His dreams being shattered at not being able to become anything more than a teacher of the harp or something like that... I'd think he'd be more like this 'here are your crappy options; you can take it, or find another profession'

But other than rewording the whole kicking out incident, he's good to go =D

Pituitary problems, zomg!

I gotta use that one. The guy I'm seeing is 6'7", he's gonna die when I inform him he has a pituitary problem. He teases me all the time, so this will be sweet, sweet REVENGE!!!!

Good good =D

Oh yes, I know. His brother is six foot four, his mom is six foot one. So height's gotta be genetic with them.

But it's so much more fun to tell him I'm sure he has a pituitary problem. B)
