Candidates

Okay, we have a plethora of candidates.. whether they are all active is disputable, but what I'm interested in are more male candidates. Got female candidates? Feel free to bring them in too but also consider bringing in a male also. I'm wanting everything from bronze to greenrider prospective males. A character that is written absolutely brilliantly but I feel isn't suited for a bronze or brown might be an absolutely brilliant blue or green, or a not so well written male might get a particularly lackluster dragon, or if they are well written characters that are absolute dolts but aren't suited for green or blue, they might get an equally doltish brown or bronze! There have been plenty of absolutely useless rankers in the history of Pern. Do I even have to mention Jora?

So yeah, candidates! Giveth them to me.. especially males =D Also, I'm even interested in what your preferences are. Whether they change my mind isn't likely, but I want input for a different angle, so to speak. When doing preferences, I don't want to see 'I want gold!' or 'I want bronze!' but rather something like this:

Like that, and do it for any colors applicable to their gender.

Flights

Anyone have greens they want to have flights? Just message me and tell me what day you wish to have it. I'd like that you let me know a little bit in advance so I have time to respond and post it in News or something.

As far as how green flights are conducted, remember that greens do not have to blood, but I do not forbid it since it's all in good fun. I'd never imagine that a green would blood more than one beast. I hate stand-ins and don't condone them at all. It doesn't make sense at all. You don't have to rp what happens or even go into detail so it shouldn't make you uncomfortable. Green flights happen abruptly and give little warning, but people tend to know when their green's cycle is coming up so they know not to leave the Weyr when their green is proddy, but greens do not begin to glow until they are practically just about to go up into the air. Blues are faster and more likely to catch a green through speed, but browns are cleverer and have more luck in outsmarting a green. Bronzes.. are huge and burly and their only hope is to outlast the green or get chosen. Greens aren't picky, and I imagine once they get bored of the chase they might latch onto a preferred partner. I just wanted to throw all that info out just in case anyone was confused, and if you have questions about greenflights before you want to host yours, let me know.

The Contest

NEW PRIZE!!! One Commission of art for one character, dragon or firelizard for EACH winner!
First prize winners get a full art piece that can either be one full character or two rough characters (rider and dragon, multiple firelizards, two or possibly three rough dragons)
2nd prizes gets either one rough character with firelizard or pet, or two or possibly three character sketches.
3rd places get a sketch with character and firelizard or pet.

(Results vary depending on the complexity of the piece.)

I've got my Cailyn as a candidate, and I'm slowly plotting characteristics for a male candidate I'll introduce eventually for this clutch. I'm still undecided whether I want to bring in Vesper now, later or never as a Candidate... hmm

Kiara's Milarth will have to rise eventually, but I'd rather put that off for a while unless no one else offers to go.


And as for the contest, I may enter if things slow down a bit over here and I get some more time on my hands to properly write things out. :)

Ollyriale and Summer are my active female and male Candidates, respectively. I'll be adding color preference details to their profiles right after this post. I'll also throw Summer into the fray somewhere, if that's okay with you? Since we just did the here's-the-new-Candidate-nice-to-meet-you-Weyrwoman thing with Olly.

I think a flight would be good for Aubria. She's gotten so emo... :P

Mishaea, Kai, Selena, Darengon, Erein, and Roaland are... still around, but I haven't really been RPing any of them besides Erein, some vague bits of Darengon, Roaland, and Selena thrown in the mix. I'll try to RP more. If you want I can bring in /one/ more male candidate (I don't mind, and he'd be active), but I'm done with candidates otherwise... for a few clutches at least.

And when does the contest close?

The contest currently doesn't have a close. I'm just desperate for more than one person to enter x_x I'd like to get entries in sooner than later though.

Don't feel you have to make another candidate if you don't want to. I can always Impress dragons off to NPCs

I have my four candidates.

Two male: Kreise and Shirael.

And two females: Makea and Sylphi.

Also, Kaseth could rise sometime. Could be fun. =D

Oh no, I would like another male candidate, but I want it to be OK with you. Besides my dislike of NPCs, I've been longing to make a homosexual male lately.

Teehee, fine with me. I'm always open to allowing people to have as many characters as they think they can handle.

Looks like you have a few volunteers, Stormy, but I would like Emig's Liranath to rise sometime. She's overdue for her first flight. But no rush! It's better that I get them all settled first.

Hehe, indeed. Oh, I almost forgot! wintersonata's green, Lamorath of Aubria will rise September 1st whenever she wants to get around to it that day. We can have more than one though. Since greenflights happen so often and don't result in anything other than potential rider pregnancy or embarrassment, they can be held and rped rather frequently; we just ask that we don't keep all our female characters pregnant. Hehe.

Of course, that's not to say pregnancy isn't allowed. It's particularly being promoted in the lower caverns to begin producing Weyrbrats. Yep. Needs them Weyrbrats!

Well if people want their greens to rise, just be sure to message me with a date that's good for you. Greens can rise on the same day as one another, since they are not territorial. And for all you guys with male dragons.... be sure to be nice and throw them in flights every now and then. If you do not wish to win the flight due to whatever reason, DISCREETLY message the person and ask them not to allow your character to be able to win. I ask that you don't broadcast this, because it's competition that promotes good roleplaying in flights like this.

Also, I'm just gonna be on rather sparsely for a while. I'm working 27 hour weeks for the next two weeks until we can hire some more people where I work. It's going to be interesting. My manager will be going out of town and taking the next week off to bring his new baby home and get adjusted. The baby is his sister's and he's adopting it =D It's all sweet and stuff. I'm excited. I wanna see it. Wheee......

Just an FYI, I'm working on a [very bad] picture of Alesia at the moment, and I might do another character later... But a warning, I'm a horrible artist, so don't get your hopes up.
