Appearance: Height: 5'7". Weight: 107 lbs. Eyes: brown, large, almond-shaped. Hair: brown, thick, slightly wavy. Cut short to curl up at the nape of her neck, with bangs that slant down across her forehead. She is healthy for one so thin; gamine is simply her normal build, and she is surprisingly strong for all her slightness. Rather than Kate Moss, think Audrey Hepburn, Sabrina era. She has a sweet, bright smile, a nose that is very slightly outsized, and high cheekbones. As far as female proportions go, she has very little bust but nice round hips, which give at least some curve to her slenderness and keep her from looking like a ten-year-old boy.
Personality: Zenna always seems to be smiling a little, both in her expression and in her general air of peace and beatitude. She is a tranquil and capable soul, never flinching from a challenge and rarely raising her voice or her temper. She is firm, kind, patient, and the sort of person who will listen quietly without inserting her own opinion at every pause. For all her apparent youth, she has surprising maturity.
History: Zenna is a member of the extended family of the Lord Holder of Thyra. The only daughter of aging parents, she stood next in line to inherit the Hold should its primary line fail to produce an acceptable heir. As such, she grew up amongst the prosperous and wealthy; a pampered doll who had the best clothes, the best education, the best of everything. She was taught to sing and dance, to clean, to sew, to cook, and to run a large household; for one day she would be a Holder's wife at least, if not a Lady Holder herself.

But beneath the pretty surface, Zenna was an observant and thoughtful child. Allowed to play quietly in the corner during the Lord Holder's meetings, she was party to discussions of pride, greed, and plotting. She did not understand much of what was said, but the words and intent stayed with her, and as she grew older, she was able to link the growing corruption within her family with the ill treatment of visitors and, especially, dragonmen. This went counter to all her Harper teaching - were not the Pernese supposed to honor those the dragons heeded? - and it sat uneasily with her. A rebellion formed and grew in her peace-loving heart, and as she came of age and her parents began to search for a suitable, powerful match for her, Zenna heard rumors of a new Weyr expanding to protect their territory. She resolved to help the dragonmen and women of this new Weyr in any way she could, and put off her suitors as long as it took her to escape from Thyra and make the long journey on foot to Kharasi. Once she arrived, she intended to beg a position as Headwoman, for she believed that she must atone for her family's grievances against the Weyr, and do all she could to make it a prosperous and harmonious place to live.

((Stormy, I hope I have not taken too much liberty with Lord Holders. My intent was to give Zenna a plausible means for being capable of Headwomanship at such a young age. My first thought was, "of course, have her trained up for it from childhood." If I've made her too closely related to a Lord Holder, please forgive and suggest, and I will come up with an alternative.))
