Name: Terna
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Bisexual
Appearance:
Wiry, and with a cunning look to her, this woman would resemble something like a ferret. In body, she's tall, long and lean at a height of five feet nine inches tall. A curled mouth would be ever smiling, even when placid, highly arched eyebrows expressive and dark. In a moments notice, a shrewd look can be wiped into a blissfully ignorant expression, which is an important survival technique for this woman. Upon her head, hair of dark klah brown would be kept shorn quite short, and is often choppy and slightly tangled due to hair texture and sometimes lack of proper care. Though her body is thin, it still holds the telltale shape of a woman if only by structure, oddly blessed with a rather good form that allows for the perfect sway of hips. It would be sheer irony that such a woman to hold the potential for allure would be worked into near emaciation, muscle and sinew clearly visible through skin with little fat in the way. In consequence, her face would look slightly sunk in, though not -too- grossly so. Hands of a worker were long and wiry, with a rough look to them, and knobby joints. Despite her rough appearance, Terna has rather good skin, which has resisted much of what the harsh sun has put her through. Her skin is an even golden brown, with little spotting or wrinkling. Her eyes are something that are usually either demurely innocent or sharp and witty, and little thought is given to her eye color. It's usually not until you actually -look- that you'd notice that they are a pretty neutral gray-green. The emotion they convey are almost always enough to draw attention away from the actual color of them.
Personality:
Terna is an eccentric, yet cunning individual. She can form a wonderful guise of idiocy that is useful in her line of work, completely belying the shrewd mind behind glassy eyes and furrowed brow of stupidity and confusion. Highly tactical, she's good at making decisions at last minute, and is vicious enough to take whatever action is necessary. Though she is not a killer by nature, when the situation calls for it she is able to overwhelm with sheer speed and agility. One hardly needs to beat an opponent with strength if you can weasel your way into his defenses and slit his throat before he can put a hand to his beltknife.
When not working, Terna is not above sinking into the dragonrider lifestyle she envies to much, and her indulgences has made it necessary to take a few short trips /between/. If she didn't have a job, she's probably be a lusty wench indulging in bronze and brownriders, alchohol and general tomfoolery, probably to escape her constantly churning mind that is never satisfied with living a placid lifestyle. Thankfully for her, and the bronze and brownriders of all the Weyrs of Pern, she does in fact have a job as a shrewd spy... something of a specialized, dark.. ninja harper. Haha! Of course, the harper hall never found it wise to let her wear her knots.. ever. It'd blow her cover at best, and create a scandal at worst if she was ever discovered.
History:
Though her lifestyle now is rather... interesting, her family life was somewhat lackluster. Born to a harper mother and runner father, her trade rested in a precarious balance. She couldn't carry a tune, and though she could pluck a few chords as well as the most average of students, her heart was not set into it. She spent most of her early life trying to find a place in the world. When the harper hall didn't work, she tried running. Though she had the wind for it, she didn't have the speed. She was only -part- runner, after all. So, back to Harper Hall she went, and then she began the shuffle. At age 17 or so, she'd be assigned to the menial duties of going to the far out holds to teach reading and writing and basic Charter information, which thankfully didn't require much, if any singing at all. It was by chance, and her knack for getting into trouble, that she found that she definitely liked sneaking about in Hold corridors and sniffing out trouble than doing something as lackluster as teaching the Hold children to read.
It was one scandal that ended up in her having to kill a man to stay alive, which was at best sheer luck on her part she hadn't came out of that fight with a hole in her belly, that her life would change. A more secretive part of the Harper Hall took her up; the sneaky part. She was taught the dirtiest of ways to come out of a fight on top, the ways of stealth and secrecy, and finally found her place in the world.
Other: Open to comments and critique on this character. She's mostly for plot but I had fun with her =D
Ooo, I like her! I suspect that more plotty goodness awaits us!
Yes, that's definitely what I hope =D
