***Before anyone says it, I KNOW, i am totally ripping this character from Cowboy Bebop... Sue me. ^W^

Name: Edward
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown, possibly in early teens.
Sexual Preference: Bisexual

Appearance: The most distinguishing feature of Edward is her bright orange hair, a color that looks like it might have been trying for red or blond, but missed the mark on both and instead mimicked an over-cooked carrot. Unlike most redheads, however not only can she easliy tolerate long exposures to the sun, she seems to carry a golden tan through the entire year. Possibly this could be hereditary, but its is unknown for sure. Her eyes are large and tawny-colored, somehow taking the best hues from her skin and hair and finding a complementary median. She has a small, sharp nose, which is almost always trying to sniff out its next meal, and a wide mouth, perfectly suited for engulfing said meal in a short time period. Ed stands around 5' and is still slowly growing, and her thin, lanky frame gives one the impression that she has been severely stretched. She is NOT the most graceful thing in the world, and to be perfectly honest is almost all elbows and knees. Bull in a china shop? That was her.

Personality: Three words come to mind describing Ed: Dopey, Happy, and Hungry. Or maybe those are just some of the seven dwarves... Whichever, she is definatively all of the above. She is also wicked smart; almost like a bright child mixed with a lemur. ADHD all the way... In order to best utilize her brains, it is imperative to make the task a game. She cant function if she isn't entertained, amused, or wonderstruck. Not normally moved to anger, she occasionally engages in a bit of childlike pouting, usually characterized by references to herself in the third person.

History: Edward was... I guess found is the best way to put it, although no one really discovered her; she just appeared one day at Tregad hold. Estimates of her age at the time ranged from a tall four year old to a diminuative seven year old, yet it was nearly impossible to tell as the girl could barely speak. Within days of turning up, Edward had mastered the language... as well as discovered which households were most likely to offer handouts. Unable (or unwilling, it is uncertain) to tell about her past, people just accepted her presence and amalgamated her into their daily life. Ed didn't really belong to any one family or another, choosing to sleep outdoors when the weather was warm enough or in one runner's stables when it got cold. She often would help with the many species of animals Tregad was famous for, if the work looked interesting enough. The Herdmaster learned quickly that a suggestion for Edward was nothing to sneeze at, for although they were few and far between, they were always gems.

Family: Unknown

Pets: None for now.

Hmm.... well, these kinds of characters tend to make me a bit wary, but I'm willing to allow it under the stipulation that she was an orphan Holdless that wasn't given much attention so she was let out to wander much of the time, and lets not say she didn't know the language, but rather wouldn't speak to anyone until after a couple of days.. Just not buying the whole learning to speak in a few days because if she didn't know how to speak at that age then she will never learn, and will never develop the brain functions of understanding grammar and the concepts of complex speech since there is only a certain 'window' for that to occur in a child's development.

Make her quick to learn and smart, good with numbers, but lets not jump to 'child prodigy' level with this one =P Feel free to make this one uncannily good with animals and other people's firelizards though, just don't go taming wild beasts or anything. XD

Well, what I had more in mind is that she knew how to speak but "forgot"... In many cases of young children that have been abandoned or lost, some language is lost due to the shock/trauma. Figuring too that she has been out there for a while... It is possible that a child could "forget" language, then "remember" it quickly. The information is still stored, just not accessible.

*le sigh* I shall dumb her down a bit

Why would she tame wild beasts? She gets animals, but I think she is much better with math and science

Well, sometimes a person never can tell what a player is going to do with a character. Just covering all my bases =P

Well, in the case of shock or trauma that makes sense, but that's not how you worded it in the beginning now was it? =P

Sorry about taking the 'child prodigy' thing away from you, but I really don't see any person, whether they were traumatized or not, how they can forget a language and spend lots of time without the proper training and whatnot.

I don't mind prodigies, I really don't, but I just feel odd giving such special traits to what is essentially a fan character. I don't mind characters based off of characters in other stories.. but I just don't like having them exactly like the ones in the story... so no child prodigy. Exceptionally smart despite all that she's been through though.. sure.

Under those circumstances, she's accepted.
