Title: An Update on the Variagated Life of Phanta
Description: Sometimes, you have to roll with it

Phantasmagorium - December 21, 2007 01:19 AM (GMT)
Hey howdy and hi

Most of you remember me =P Probably as a semi-literate young teenager with a big imagination and some weird opinions. Well, since the last time I posted (as I recall / can find with reasonable searching), I went to basic training for the United States Navy, and 3 weeks in received a medical discharge. Needless to say, this was a fairly rough experience, as I proceeded to spend another 21 days in medical processing and returning home. When I left my division was only a week and a half from graduating. I did a lot of writing (most of it poetry) in MedSeps, and those bits of it as were any good got posted to my DA months ago.

Since then, I've gotten a job at Harbor Freight Tools, which, for those of you who don't know, is a warehouse with a storefront stuck to the front of it where we sell all sorts of cool stuff (for people of the craftsman (woodworking, metalworking, etc.) type, anyways) for really good prices. There are in total, including managers, 19 people working there. Which means that I work 9+ hours a day, four to six days a week.

Some of you are probably wondering what's prompted this sudden post. Fury knows ;). She caught me on Neopets (which has been, and remains, my homepage since the early days of Tiazora - call it nostalgia) and sent me a mail, asking me to come back. I'd love to. I need a good outlet for this pent up creativity and (our old favorite) angst :P. I just hope I can, in good conscience, do it successfully. After all, 9+ hours a day almost every day is a lot XD, and coming home and not collapsing after work takes fighting the sleepiness and caffeine, and these are both things that have been known in the past to cause poor writing on my part (and, to be fair, some good writing, too).

I'm going to be updating my MSN / Yahoo / AIM accounts onto my profile here. Feel free to message me at any time - if I'm home, I'm always open to chat. Pester me to RP with you =P. As a side note to the Powers that Be, I'm going to be coming up with a new character - new beginnings are always interesting, no? =P.

Your favorite communal little brother ( ;) ),

Phanta

We fully understand how that work thing goes, and what I said about how people are welcome no matter how active/inactive they are still stands. If you wish to post say once or twice a week that would work excellently.. or less if you must.. or more! Whatever is best for you.

Sounds like a job where you might have to do heavy lifting... not going to assume but I wish you the best of luck =) We'd totally love to have you back, and Kharasi certainly needs a bit more drama. If you'd like, feel free to check out 'Unleash the Siege' on the Heights, which I still need to post at XD hopefully I'll find time to do that soon.

Phantasm, woohoo!! I'm so glad you came here, at the very least to update us on what's been going on with you. At best, I hope you can get back into RPing too. I have very fond memories of our varying (sometimes clashing) ideas of life on Pern; you made me think, and you always challenged my imagination with your twisted, mysterious plots. And I laugh remembering gold Ahekayth's fascination with her brother, F'niks's bronze - what was his name? Lavosirth?

It would be terrific to see you back, if you can make it. I am very sorry to hear about you having to go out on Medical from the Navy. My brother Tomas was a career Navy man, and my brother Andrieu just started his second tour in Iraq for the Marines. I think both of them would sympathize with your plight.

Harbor Freight!!! I know them. They make terrific milling machines and big sheet-metal cutters and all kinds of fascinating, wonderful machines I vow I will someday know how to use. It's a goal to learn how to weld (TiG) and operate a metal lathe, and maybe even learn CNC machining. I get the Harbor Freight catalog twice a year in the mail.

Really, really hope to see more of you, little brother.

Haha, thanks guys =). I'm impressed Fury, that's the right name down to the letter. Lavosirth it was. Maybe I'll bring them back - F'niks ought to be nearing his forties by now. What an old dude. :P S'len is probably nearly fifty, too XD hahah. An old, doting father, still, I'm sure. Hmm... and Jasmine almost no longer of age to stand... hm. *Let the plotting begin!* :P

Also, as for Harbor Freight.. yeah, lots of heavy lifting. I'm sure it's great for my bad shoulder, heheheh. But working there has given me lots of ideas - for instance, I'm going to (after paying off the Christmas bills x_x) start trying to build a custom case for my computer - probably make it end up looking rather steampunk.

Phantasm, great to see you! :) I'll mostly ditto Nako and Fury since I'm half dead at the comp now, but I'm looking forward to rping with you again!

G'day Phantasmagorium (it's fun to say out loud. |3) I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet, so I'm Bee. I hope we'll get to roleplay sometime. Nice to meet you.

Ah Phantas, we need you you see. I'm as inactive as you're likely to be, with a goal of actually getting active again after the semester of death. I'm resting and pulling my body back together and we'll see where I come and go. But I'm really glad to see the other guy from Tia be around here. That's always a good thing.

Bit of a bummer about getting discharged from the Navy. I know no branch of the service would take me, I've got epilepsy, partial deafness in my right ear, and poor vision. Still, the minds good to some degree or another, and I've some slight skill in writing (Or so I continue to contend).

But I'll keep on looking for the master of chaos at Kharasi. Keep in touch.
