Title: Whers?? Where? XD Plotty Goodness

I know it seems like I'm coming up with a bunch of hairbrained schemes lately, but this one made so much sense, and would open up a variety of possibilities for non-dragonriders within the Weyr that I couldn't resist X3

Rebuilding Kharasi, which is an ancient, lost Weyr, was a large project that took many turns to complete. Even now, there are still rennovations being done by miners and stoneworkers to expand the new Weyr. Many of these people include families that live in the lower caverns, and even Wherhandlers. Whers were used often for safety and for the wher-power, so to speak, and even now there is an area within the lower caverns where the Whers live in their dens safe from the daylight. These people still actively work and reside within the Weyr, and I believe I want to integrate them into an important and influential part of the Weyr.

Just so you all know, you CANNOT have both a wher and a dragon.

These are close-knit family units consisting of older people, women, working men and children. You can be any of these, and entry with a wher is allowed, but special permission must be given for gold or bronze whers. Whers can impress to any gender despite color. The head Wherhandler will temporarily be played by me, but will be given to someone with decent knowledge of whers in the future. DO NOT CREATE A WHERHANDLER WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.

Head Wherhandler:: Lordven -- Gold Wher Lordvesk

To have a Wherhandler character within the Weyr, your character has to have a legitimate reason for being there. Being there during the reconstruction is a good one. Maybe they have been there since it began with their family, or maybe they are moving in because of some talents. Give me a good reason and I might allow wherhandler transfers... And stonecrafters are welcome as well =D

What it takes to be a Wherhandler:::

--Be at least 16 turns of age, but older is better. You better create active characters that are miners or stoneworkers that you work with to have one and aren't over 20.

--If you are a stoneworker or miner/digger type person with a Wher, you must be over 20 turns.. preferrably older. Alesia doesn't like to hire workers fresh out of school for such important work.

--Your entire history should support training by Wherhandlers, how you got the egg (NO wild nests, no just recieving one randomly) and why you have a wher.

--There are SO many other stipulations that this is why I ask to send me the information via private message so we can talk about the character =) I will help you flesh out the character.

Rules and Guidelines to Wherhandling::

--I ask you all to let me overlook your info and decide on your wher's name. The closer their name is to yours, the closer the bond is and the more useful and intelligent the creature will most likely be. I will do this with a mixture of looking at your info and history and taking that into account, and possibly pulling a name out of a hat.

--NO golds or bronzes without my express permission. If you want a gold or bronze then you might want to just have wherhandler candidate. There are really no official 'candidates', but if you are following the path that would get you a job in mining/wherhandling then you have a chance for it.

--No wild clutches at ALL. None. Though there might be wild whers the only accepted whers at this time are domesticated and bred from domestic stock.

--Always ask permission before breeding whers. Breeding can be prevented in whers and their breeding is highly regulated. Greens are not allowed to breed because it produces inferior offspring at times... When the eggs are actually viable at all.

--Have a reason for having your wher. A -good- reason.

I know I'm forgetting a million things, but this will be good for now. Feel free to ask any questions =D

I'd like to have a wher. I even have a character, except she just needs a bit of tweaking.
