Title: Distance Measure

I hope this is the right heading for my question.

So, I've been thinking how and where to RP my Runner journeyman, Ciaran. That led me to wonder about distances. How do the Pernese measure them? I can't remember any sort of long-distance measure used in the books, except kilometers (clicks) when the sleds were still operational back in the Dragonsdawn days. All I can remember are dragonlengths and possibly hands.

But then I thought, well, the Runner Stations must have maps that measure trace distances somehow. Dragonlengths are too short.

If anyone can find a distance measure that's used by the seventh Pass, I'll write that into my RPs.

If not, I'd like to propose that we use leagues. Yes, I had to look up what a league actually was. Turns out it's the distance an average person can walk in one hour over fairly straight ground. In rough measure, about 3.5 miles or 5.6 km. I'd think the distance measured in an hour's (candlemark's?) walking time would be something we could easily use in our low-technology society.

Thoughts? Stormy, would such a thing be acceptable?

*throws hands up in the air* XD I haven't the foggiest. I'll reread one of the short stories that I know is about a runner later, but I can't recall any particular measurement as of now. Feel free to use whatever measurement you want to use for now... and we'll adapt when we have something more concrete in canon =)
