Family Emergency Update

Well, I'm home in Columbus, Ga... and mom's back in her own house as well. She's going to be resting, and we'll be back up there for the weekend but till then then, the weekdays are mine! I'm thoroughly looking forward to the rest, and I'm going be sure to cook mom a lot of squishy foods to keep her all nice and nourished as I know she'll be starving herself since her gums hurt and she won't want to eat.

But anywho... if she quits smoking, takes her meds and eats well then she'll be on the road to recovery. It's mostly in her hands now. I'll just try to make sure she keeps eating until she's able to get better fitting dentures and when her gums heal. You see, she's having to do without pain meds because of her heart, so she's in some pretty bad discomfort. But hey, she's ALIVE! So yay!

New Players

I'd like to extend a belated welcome to Rayya. She joined a while ago and I was unable to extend a welcome to her as some issues turned up as I've explained.

Also, Nafamere has joined us, and he is an old friend from Highschool and was my Dungeon Master from when we played D&D back in the day. He's new to Pern rp and I ask that everyone be gentle and supportive as he still has much to learn. =)

Timeline and Goings-on

It is now close to 6 months after Iolath's eggs have hatched, and soon the weyrlings will fly with their riders for the first time. Because of our messed up timeline, we are merely doing 'jumps' of time to certain events when I see fit. This is because we all tend to have a lot going on and having a set timeline ends up hurting us in the long run, I think. I hope that we eventually find a bit of consistency though, and maybe we can have a set way of time passing that will accommodate everyone yet keep things going.

Though it is 6 months after the hatching, feel free to rp any time between now and the previous hatching if there was a certain plot you wanted to see through. I don't mind this as we've made quite a skip in time, but I ask that you just don't rp anything in the future that hasn't happened yet.

Senior Queen Rising

I'll be having the Senior queen rising soon, and I'll be posting an email to try to get our old players back in the action. If all goes well, there may be a gold egg on the sands this time around! This also means we will be needing candidates. Feel free to advertise this Weyr anywhere that you can, and see if you can round up any old Pern rping friends to come join. I'll be allowing those without bronzes to create bronze suitors but I warn you all that I will be quite strict on accepting these characters as I will allow only the most exemplary character sheets to be accepted. I grow weary of allowing every Tom, Dick and Harry to have a bronze only to see everyone who didn't win the Flight disappear. I ask that all bronzerider applications be either emailed or pmed to me to be looked over. Fill it out like you would a normal character sheet, along with why you think you should be allowed a bronzerider character. Keep in mind browns will be allowed to chase the queen as well, but their chances for winning are slim.

For those who want to take part in the Flight but do not wish to win, you are also allowed to create a very temporary bronze or even a brown dragon to fly after the queen. This makes the flight more interesting and more realistic as NPC's will be able to drop out early without fear of losing the opportunity to win the flight. (I may still PM PC players to drop out early if I feel their dragon may not have been able to realistically keep up) You will not need a character sheet for these characters. Merely PM me with the name of rider and dragon and approximate dragon age and size and rp them when the flight begins. Do not rp this character anywhere else other than the flight.

Well, Nako, it took my mother her heart attack to stop smoking. It did work pretty well, even though she says to this day there are still times she desperately wants a cigarette, and it's more than a decade later.

And good luck to all those who rise to chase the queen when it happens! Good luck, and mercy on us, cause the winner becomes the Weyrleader, and inherits all the duties excetera thereof. Good luck with the Thyra problem, and dealing with that Alesia....

Well... I'm going to attempt to fly the queen when she rises with my brown, lol... unlikely but who knows. But I assure you that my brown will give it his all

And yes Nako I'm happy that your mother is makeing a good recovery. And I'm happy that she has people around her that love her.

Oo, I think L'gan just collapsed from relief! :P I may make an NPC if there aren't many contenders. :)

Now you know that a Weyrwoman has'ta be a brassy one or they would just end up being another Jora, lol. So I'm happy that our present Weyrwoman is a "ball buster" (^_^)

Eh, she's only a ball buster for guys like L'gan that want to baby her. She's an independent woman, yo! :P

Poor L'gan... So if he ever shows up with a bruised eye then We should just not mention it huh?

Meaning that shes an Independent woman that she has L'gan on the leash and has her own demands, lol

Ooh, a queenflight. I'll probably NPC up, as my only bronzerider is in limbo still XD. That would just be too amusingly awkward...

So is this the first junior queen the Weyr will be having? I haven't really gotten a handle on the different characters yet. ^^; Can't wait for the mating flight to take place. That'll be fun to read. ^^

Yes, it will be the first gold egg laid in Kharasi if she lays one. Don't count your dragons before they hatch though.. I gotta keep you guys on your toes XD
