Title: Song Help Needed
Kattie E - January 6, 2007 01:48 PM (GMT)
Can you help us with this song question?
This is an older song, possibly by the Hinsons.
Part of the words were “count the scars in His hands and you’ll find one from me”. And possibly another part of the song (toward the beginning) was “why would a king leave His throne to put a ….robe of flesh and bone….” (not sure about the italicized part May be a “fleshly robe”.)
Thanks!

I don't know the song, but I thought that there were a bunch of Hinson lovers out there somewhere. What happened to them?

I'll have to ask my Dad.. He loves them... He might even have the song on a CD re-release somewhere...
As for remembering all the words.. well, Don't know about that... he tends to make them up as he goes along sometimes! haha

I don't know about the first part of lyrics you are quoting, but the second part : "“why would a king leave His throne to put a ….robe of flesh and bone….” are lyrics from "That I Could Still Go Free".

I'm with karen on that one particular line kattiebelle...
That I Could Still Go Free
Lock me up in a prison and throw away the key
Take away the vision from my eyes that now can see
Deprive me of the food I eat (except corndogs)
And even bind my hands and feet
But as long as I have Jesus, then I can still go free
That I could still go free
What kind of Man would reach down His hand and do this for me
Unworthy to live and not fit to kill
Then a Man on the cross put me in His will
And said that I could still go free
Now I never could quite understand why a King would want to leave His throne
To don the robe of an earthly man
Feel the pain of flesh and bone
And later trod that lonely path that led to Calvary
Where the blood red stains broke all my chains
That I could still go free
That I could still go free
What kind of Man would reach down His hand and do this for me
Unworthy to live and not fit to kill
Then a Man on the cross put me in His will
And said that I could still go free
sorry you had to endure that JCB.... :babyha:
