The late Lewis Grizzard was my favorite writer. His humor was just the best and he made me fall in love with the south. The book titles still make me laugh...Shoot Low Boys, They're Riding Shetland Ponies is just hysterical to me.
I have adored reading every book by Jan Karon. Father Tim and the residents of Mitford are just the church version of Mayberry. LOL What a lovely way Karon has of intertwining her characters throughout the books. Oh how I wish Hallmark would have grabbed this series and made a movie/s.
Those are two of my favorites, too, Kattie!
Father Tim may be one of the reasons I became an Episcopalian. ;)
I'm fortunate to have seen Lewis Grizzard in person a few years before his untimely death. What a great storyteller!
His tale about the bull dog :doggie: is a classic.
and "I don't believe I would've said that" story :rollinglaughing:
