She played a character listed as Texas Guinan in the credits. Not sure what that is. I never saw the movie.

JDubya - January 27, 2007 03:45 AM (GMT)
This one took a lot of research and I am not sure if I have it yet....
Firstly, Jodie owned and managed a production company...Bogie also managed a production company, but I couldn't find anything like that on Brooke. The one thing I did find in common was MODELING.

We remember (some of us) the Jodie Foster "bare bottom" Coppertone commercial....and of course the Brooke Shields "Nothing comes between me and my Calvin's" ad campaign. I read that a portrait of the infant Bogie was used in ads for a popular baby food during the turn of the century. Therefore my answer is Modeling.

I hope that is right and if it isn't...I am VERY intersted to see what the connection is. This is cool thread Steve!

ThunderingHerd - January 27, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
Man o Man!!! Woo Hoo! I am so impressed...You got it right...well except for the Brooke Fields part but it was close enough...

They were ALL models as babies...

Humphrey Bogarts mother Maud Humphrey was a commercial aritst and had his face on baby food labels and other advertisements.

Jodie Foster showed off her tan lines as the Coppertone Kid

Brooke Shields was the Ivory Snow baby. However, I like the Calvin Klien connection too. I had forgotten about that one.

Good job JDubya!

Next Question: What actor played the lead in the radio version of GUNSMOKE, but lost the role when the series moved to the small screen?

Chadley - January 27, 2007 12:33 PM (GMT)
William Conrad

ThunderingHerd - January 27, 2007 02:56 PM (GMT)
Excellent Chadley!

William Conrad was the original Matt Dillon. However, they did not think that he "looked the part" when the show went to tv. So, they recast that role with James Arness. William Conrad is better known to most people from the show "Cannon"

Next Question: Gavin Mccloud was a regular on three TV shows between 1962 and 1986. What were those show and the names of the characters that he played?
