Mark 16:6- "6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him."

On the third day after the death and burial of Jesus, three ladies came to His tomb. Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were going to embalm and anoint Jesus' body since it had not been done before He was buried. They meant this as a last token of love and respect for the Master. He was dead, and they were wondering, "What are we going to do now?" Little did they know that they were about to receive the biggest surprise- and the biggest blessing- of their lives.

As they approached the tomb, they saw that the stone was moved away from the door. Looking inside, they saw that the tomb was empty. They were confused until they saw the angel and heard what he said. Jesus had risen! He was alive! They were to go and share this good news with others, so they ran back to tell the disciples first.

Why was this so important? If Jesus had not risen, it would have meant that He had no power over the grave. And if He had no power over the grave, then He could not give us eternal life. In short, there is no Gospel and no plan of salvation without the resurrection! We often focus so much on the cross that we don't give appropriate emphasis to the resurrection. This is the culmination of the entire Easter story. It is because of this that God's redemptive work was completed. It is because of all of this that we can have eternal life if we accept Him as our Savior. This is truly what Easter is all about. Isn't it wonderful?

Bro. Chad ... Our LORD is the only one who defeated Death, hell and the grave. all others ... Mohomad, Harry Cristner, Ala, just to name a few is STILL DEAD. Folks who worship them look to a gravesite where they still reside.... BUT OUR LORD is seated at the right hand of FATHER GOD in HEAVEN with SIX things he carried there from earth. Yea there is something in heaven from earth. Wonder what that might be? it is the scars we placed on our LORD as they Crucified Him. the nail prints in HIS hands X2 the nail prints in HIS feet X2 the scar in HIS SIDE X1 and the place where they place the crown of thorns on to HIS HEAD X1 that equals 6 to me. WE or better yet I Put those six things on to my LORD by MY SINS. Each one of us has to get to the point that I Did that to MY LORD.

I'm thankful for the resurrection, for the loosening of chains of death...
It is still appointed unto man once to die, but because of Christ's resurrection, the sting is gone...
And because of the resurrection, my family member that passed on to Glory this weekend is walking...running...for the first time in probably 70 years...and spending Easter with Jesus.
He is risen indeed!
