Hidee Y'all,
I would like to ask you to pray for my Daddy (who is also my Pastor), Bobby Joe Raper, tomorrow morning (Monday, May 14). He is having an angiogram which may become an angioplasty. The Doctors say he only has 29% function of his heart and has 70% blockage; however, he has never had a single pain or shortness of breath etc (Praise the Lord!). If they think a by pass is necessary it will be scheduled for a later date.
Please pray for Mother and I also as we wait and my brother and sister as they wait for my call. We are all a little nervous and anxious, of course; however, we have turned it over to the Lord, we know that He is in complete control, and we have many people praying. We have to be at the hospital at 5:00AM in the morning. Thank you in advance for your prayer support!

Thanks so much for your prayers and responses! The angiogram showed there is indeed a great deal of serious blockage. They tried to do an angioplasty and to implant a stent ; however, the blockage is simply too severe. We will call the surgeon to set up an apointment tomorrow to schedule open heart by pass surgery. He will probably have 5 by passes. Daddy was able to go home tonight. Mother and I did well, and we truly felt all the many prayers being sent to the Lord's throne room for us. I got up at 3:45AM this morning, so I am pretty worn out. I will try my best to keep you updated. Thansk again. You are all appreciated!

I'm sorry I missed this. I've been away for a few days. Your dad is in my prayers, as well as everyone who is involved in the surgery that he will be having.

Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts for my Daddy. We had a great meeting with the surgeon today. Daddy's by pass is scheduled for Monday, May 21 (next Monday) at 7:30AM. We all have a real peace about this; however, it is still incredibly scary. I appreciate y'all!

Daddy's surgery is tomorrow morning (Monday, May 21). I will probably be away from the computer for a couple of days. I had to get five stitches in my left index finger yesterday due to an electric hedge trimmer accident. Of course, I'm left handed! Thank you for your prayers! Please remember Daddy and the family tomorrow. Thank you!

I am on a friends computer. Daddy's surgery went well. They were able to do 4 by passes. He is still heavily sedated, but all looks good now. Thanks for the prayers! They say the nexy 24 hours are still very critical.

Thanks for the continued prayers! They moved Daddy to a private room today. All the chest drain tubes and all the wires etc are gone, Praise the Lord! He is still dealing with pain and he has the hiccups on top of it all! They are supposed to let him sleep all night tonight. He has no appetite, of course, but we are trying to coax him into eating. Mother and I are at our respective homes and beds for about 11 hours. We are so thankful for all the prayers and Daddy's marvelous progress! He has witnessed to every person that has entered his room since he has been concious! He will begin walking the halls tomorrow! <smile>!

Praise GOD FOR Answering Prayers.... you, your mom, your dad and the rest of your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers until he is safe and content at home where he can relax and get well. Please give him my love and prayers. :hug: :wub:
