Revelation 3:15- "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot."
The church at Laodicea was the last of the 7 churches of Asia Minor to whom John wrote with God's message. A serious issue had arisen here that needed to be dealt with.
In their service to the Lord, God said that that they were "neither cold nor hot". In other words, they were not doing their best or giving their all for the Lord. God essentially told them that He would rather them give 100% to Him or nothing. This "halfway stuff" just wasn't going to cut it.
To cut to the heart of the matter, it all boils down to the issue of priorities. Some would ask, "Well, shouldn't God be happy with whatever time or effort that I can spare to give to Him?" You may disagree with me, and I'm sorry if this offends you, but I see that attitude as insulting to our Lord. What happened to putting Him first in every area of our lives? (Colossians 1:18- "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.") Christians who give God less than 100% are a poor testimony to a world that is constantly watching. It tells the world exactly how much they think God is worth. In God's eyes, He's either worth our all or nothing at all!
What does God want from us? He wants nothing less than our all, and He deserves exactly that. He didn't give a halfhearted effort when it came to the plan of salvation. How can we be satisfied to give Him less than our best?
May God Richly bless you this week Pastor Chad for your work, thanks for reminding us(ME) to always give God MY VERY BEST
