Hey Lorraine...... did you make your tiebreaker predictions at the bottom of the page?
VirginiaJoe - August 29, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
You mean it's time to start picking games? :o

OK, I obviously don't understand this league at all. I kinda figured that if you pick the correct winner of the game, that you would get a point.
I guess my team name...... "don't have a clue about this...... fits me perfectly.
I looked at the games just now, and it says that I was incorrect on the Ohio State/Akron game. I picked Akron to get the fewest points this week..... so I thought "why on earth would I be stupid enough to pick them to win their game?"
SO...... I looked, and I'm figuring that the big black circles by the team means that those are the ones that I picked. And I DID pick Ohio State to win that game....... so how can I be incorrect?
THEN, I looked at last week's game...... the very first game, I picked Virginia Tech to win over East Carolina...... and they did win, and I got it incorrect..... but, so did all of the rest of you who picked VT. There were other games like that too. I just don't get it.
Anyone care to explain this game to me? No hurry.... I'm leaving for NQC. See ya.

Oh....... and, um, Kattie......... are you going to play with us, or did you forget all about us? You haven't made any picks yet. :TonyClick:

Shari....there is a column (or several columns) between the two teams' names. It is the points that a team is favored to win by. The points in the "Final" column is added to the "Underdog" team's score at the end of the game. That new score becomes the final score for this "Pick em" game.
In the two games you mentioned, the losing team's actual points.....plus the points in the "final" column......gave them more points than the winning team, thus making them the winner of the "pick em" game.
So, we neeed to consider those points when picking our winners. I think I may have picked Akron in that game, for that reason.

Clear as mud...... thanks! (not that your explanation wasn't good, because it was...... but this whole game is clear as mud...... now I'm beginning to wonder if Kattie isn't the smart one by not making picks! LOL)
