Title: Devotional: Week Of 9/3/2007
Description: I Corinthians 4:1-2

I Corinthians 4:1-2
1. Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
2. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

The Labor Day holiday is once again upon us here in the United States. This is a time where we reflect on God blessing us with work and with the ability to make a living. It is obvious, through even a cursory reading of Scripture, that God ordains and values hard work. Laziness is a bad testimony and really has no place in a Christian's life.

It's amazing how many Christians put this principle into practice in their secular jobs and yet seem to forget about it in the carrying out of their spiritual responsibilities. Why the difference? I ask this because there should be no difference! We are stewards= God has given us responsibilities to take care of. And we are to carry out those responsibilities faithfully and diligently. In other words, we are to be workers whom God can depend on.

What kind of laborer are you for Christ? To give Him anything less than our best is a shame.
