Title: 8 month old baby
Description: urgent prayer needed

Please keep Skylar Chance in your prayers. She is 8 months old and has Glutaric Acidemia II, a rare genetic disease. Unless God gives her a special healing touch she doesn't have much longer to live. The doctors have done all they know to do for her. Her case is so rare that finding the right treatment has been extremely difficult. Tomorrow she is scheduled to have a temporary central line put in. This has been attempted several times already and failed. Because of her breathing/swallowing problems she is unable to be put to sleep. They are gonna try some slight sedation and see if that works. But even that can be dangerous for her. So we would deeply appreciate your prayers for this precious little baby.
I spent 9 hours at the hospital with her today and had a blast. We played, sang songs and prayed together. She smiled the whole time we were praying. Looked like an angel....we asked Jesus to please send her a miracle so we can keep her if He'll let us. She is such a blessing to everyone that walks through her door. For those interested, here is a few pictures of her taken a couple months ago.

UPDATE:
Just got home from the hospital. Skylar went in for surgery about 6:30 this evening. It lasted several hours. The doctor came out about 9pm and told us that he almost lost her. She started bleeding and lost quite a bit of blood. He thought they were gonna have to do a transfusion but her counts have stablized. The surgery itself was a success for which we are very thankful. This one will last at least six years. It did take more than one attempt so she was cut in five different places. Plus she has the chest tube which is draining the blood from her left lung. Right now she is still in recovery and may stay there all night unless a bed opens up in the Peds ICU. The doctor told us before we left that she is still not out of the woods. Since none of the family was there for the surgery, I got to be the one to take her into the operating room and go see her in recovery afterwards. Before she went down to the OR we sang Jesus loves me. She was awake and knew me when I walked up to the bed in the recovery room. She just looked at me then grabbed my finger and held onto it. They only let me stay five minutes though. She is very pale and swollen.

Skylar did get moved out of ICU tonight. But she is still very exhausted from yesterday. She's slept most of the day. Pray for the doctors. The team can't seem to agree on the treatment plan. One doctor came in this evening and said he wanted the Central line that was placed during the 3 hour surgery last night to be removed next week!! We were outraged. But the other sdoctor said it could last for 6-7 years and is necesary since she's in and out of the hospital every couple weeks. This will keep Skylar from being poked so many times when she does have to come in. Her veins are very small and difficult to get an IV in because she is so chubby. The other day it took two hours to get one IV in her hand. It is very frustrating for the Mom and the rest of us. We don't want her put through anything that isn't necessary. So pray that God will give the doctors wisdom to do what is best for Skylar.

Quick update: She is still bleeding but they went ahead and took the chest tube out anyway. I'm not sure why. Yesterday they gave her a blood transfusion. There is still tons of confusion between the doctors on what to do next.
