I John 1:6-7
6. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Think about what these verses are saying. If we are not "walking in the light" (i.e. studying God's Word and living by it), then our fellowship with the Lord is hindered. To say that you have fellowship with Him without studying and obeying His Word is a lie, and yet it's a lie that many fall for. When we find ourselves not "walking in the light", we hve the responsibility to make things right with Him and bring ourselves back into the "light" of the Word.
Our relationship with God is the most important thing in our lives, and it affects the other relationships in our lives. A right relationship with God will filter down inito every other aspect of our lives, causing us to want our relationships with others to reflect our relationship with Him. This is a large part of what Christianity truly is.
So, in closing, let me ask yhou one question: "Are you 'walking in the light'?"
