I'm so thankful for my family. I am very blessed. I know that's not very original, but my mom has been through so much in the past year, that I am so thankful for every minute I get to spend with her.

I'm thankful that my granddaughter survived the weekend. The doctor was concerned that she wouldn't.

I am thankful for the multitude of prayers God has answered this year, for my husband who has been amazing and for friends with unwavering support. I have never had so much to be thankful for as I do this year.
Thank you God for all things.

I'm thankful for absolutely everything....I have to be....everything I've ever had to face throughout my lifetime has formed me into the person I am today....a person who is totally dependent upon GOD and trusting HIM for my breath.....knowing that HE is making me into a vessel that's fit for use in HIS KINGDOM.....that's what I'm most thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day....

VirginiaJoe - November 22, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)

warning: Potential Long Post Alert

My salvation and Lord...Heaven knows I am a perpetual mistake waiting to happen most times. God continues to amaze me each day by smiling on me and demonstrating His perfect Grace. I have two awesome churches and Pastors in my life. First Assembly of God and Brother Scott...and Shawnee and Brother Mod...I look up to, admire and respect both Pastors, love both churches, and feel loved at both churches. Both have been incredibly awesome to me and to my family.

My family...the one's I was birthed to...I will get to the others in a second
Mom is like a fine wine, she gets more and more mellow and more and more better the older she gets...I am very thankful the Lord spared her in 02 and brought her through her surgery and gave us more time with her. To see my little grand-niece Sarah, a miracle in her own right, come over each morning to "check on Nana" and to "hatch an egg" with her, is priceless. Mom pulls her a chair up to the stove and carefully supervises while this precocious four year old scrambles her own egg (known to her as "hatching" an egg). You have to be there... Ask her on any day who the bestest uncle is and she will say "Ump Jim"...and that makes me feel like the king of the world. We have a new addition (number 33) and since her dad is called "Bubba", I have dubbed little Aubrianna as "Bubbalina". Even at 12 weeks, she knows when Uncle Dub picks her up and she smiles with those big blue eyes and that wild red hair and reminds me of Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss.

My family...the one's I adopticated and that adopticated me...folks like Patti, Bekah, Randy, Randy's folks Giggy and Annie, Jason and Wendy, my pal Dan, my pal Bunyan...I am super blessed with folks that seem like we were all related from the start. So many folks drove long distances to my reception that it blew me away...I know it shouldn't cause I would have done the same for them...but I am often cautious when it comes to friendships. I realized how blessed I am and I was honored beyond words.

My friends past and present...though I have seemingly dropped out of contact since my marriage, I remain thankful for all of my friends everywhere. To be frank, Retha has become my best friend on this planet...so my free time is pretty much spent with her. It's not that I don't "like" my friends these days per se, it's just that I spent so much time looking for a mate and dreaming of that bond, that now that it is here, she and I spend as much time together as we can. It's awesome and those of you who have been married a LONG time can attest.

My job....both of them...as hectic as they can be sometimes; and sometimes thankless...I am blessed beyond words with two careers that I feel born for. This year I was able to take some much needed vacation from each one...as we all know no matter how called and how led and how prepared you are; you gotta rest.

My home...as Retha says "Baby I'm excited we got nine windows and a door" to which I respond "Yes maam and they belong to the good Lord and US". Our dream home is coming along nicely though not a quickly as I would like. But we know when it is done, we will have a vacation get-a-way complete with backporch jacuzzi and a lake steps away from the back deck. The smallest journey begins with one step and I am very thankful my wife baby-steps right there with me. This brings me to the last entry of this post...

My new family...God answered my prayers very specifically and very thoroughly when Retha and the girls came into my life. For those of you who wonder, Mallorie (my five year old) is already acting like me...lol. Morgan, my twelve year old, is a John Wayne movie nut and reading addict...and loves useless trivia...yep, we get along fine! Retha's personality calms mine and we are learning to be a true team...we have decided to be "nauseatingly happy" like Faith and Tim seem to be. So that when we leave a function, people will say "There's no way those two are THAT happy" as she and I drive away laughing at some silly something one of us said. I am learning to quietly choke that side of me that likes to speak his mind regardless of consequence...and teach him to be a kindler gentler person...Lawd hep me, lol.

That's a partial list of what I am thankful for.

oh yes, almost forgot.... :pinkcake: :bluecake:
I am thankful for CAKE too.....
