Arthur Smith is a great musician and songwriter. He has written and plays many types of music, but gospel music has always been his favorite.

He had a gospel quartet for many years. What was the name of his gospel group?

After several months of being entertained (and amazed) by the people in this group, I am grateful (and amazed) to actually get to answer one...
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Arthur Smith's gospel quartet was called The Crossroads Quartet.
Thanks to everyone for sleeping late and letting a rookie get through! :twirly:
On the other hand, if this is wrong, never mind...

Arthur Smith and the Crackerjacks had a variety show on TV,and usually did a gospel song or two, but you`re probably looking for the quartet that johnpoe said The Crossroads Quartet.

Back in the early 1990's, Arthur wrote a book entitles "Apply It To Life".
In that book they printed 10 or 12 gospel songs that Arthur had written, all of which the Crossroads Quartet recorded and sang. George Beverly Shay recorded several of Arthur's songs . Statesmen and many other quartets recorded his music as well.
