MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Deon and Susan Unthank, administrators of SoGospelNews.com, are proud to announce that nominations are now being taken for 2008 Fan Favorite Artist of the Year for their annual SGN Music Awards Celebration.

“This is one of our biggest categories,” mentioned Deon Unthank. “Fans come out in droves to support their favorite artists in this category. It’s always fun to see who the fans’ favorite artists of the year were.”

Fan Favorite Artist of the Year is the only category where fans get to choose the nominees in the SGN Music Awards. The remaining nominees in more than 20 additional categories are chosen by the staff SoGospelNews.com – the industry’s leading e-zine about Southern Gospel music.

Voting began on January 1, 2008 and will continue through January 14, 2008. The nominees for Fan Favorite Artist of the Year, as well as all of the nominees for the 2008 SGN Music Awards, will be announced on January 21, 2008 in a press release to the media.

“This is one of our biggest events of the year,” continued Deon Unthank. “We’re expecting even more great things for this year’s event.”

The 2008 SGN Music Awards Celebration will take place on Tuesday evening, April 29, 2008 at the River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee. The evening promises to be an exciting night of fun, fellowship, and performances from some of the top names in Southern Gospel music. The program will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. The Awards Celebration is free to the public.

Hosts and performers are still being confirmed at this time. More information regarding the SGN Music Awards will be announced at a later date.
