Colossians 1:18 - "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."

I want you to stop for a few moments and think about something. Make a list of the top 5 priorities in your life. If possible, put them in order starting with the most important and working your way down from there. Now, sit back and examine your list. Where did pleasing and honoring God rank?

Scripture tells us very plainly that the Lord is to be our top priority. Every other priority must be filtered through that one. He ought to affect and impact every area of our lives. Nothing should be more important than Him or take His place. You see, "preeminence" means "top of the list". That's His rightful place, but is that His place in your life? If the truth be told, I think that many Christians have God on their priority list- just not at the top. Think of what they're missing because of this!

Let's commit ourselves this year to making sure that the Lord truly does have the preeminence in all areas of our lives. Only then can He bless and use us to the fullest extent that He desires.
