Title: Devotional: Week Of 1/21/208
Description: Proverbs 3:5-6

Proverbs 3:5-6
5. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

It's one thing to read God's Word or to listen as it's preached or taught. It's another thing entirely to put it into practice in your daily life. Many Christians have the former down pat. It's the latter that gives them problems.

To me, these verses beg one particular question: Do you really trust the Lord if you don't acknowledge and obey His leading and direction? I would submit to you that the answer to this question is, "No." You see, your trust in something is proven by your actions in relation to that something. Have you ever watched cheerleaders doing their stunts at a ball game? Specifically, I'm referring to the ones who are at the very top of the high pyramids or who get thrown up in the air. If you notice, there are always several cheerleaders on the ground to catch them when they come down. The cheerleaders who are jumping/falling down think nothing of doing so because they implicitly trust those on the ground to catch them. If we truly trust the Lord, then we should think nothing of acknowledging His authority in our lives and following the paths in which He directs us. This is the true test of trust.

So, how's your trust level in Jesus today? Are you really obeying and practicing Proverbs 3:5-6? If not, then you can choose to change that. What's your choice?
