Description: a bunch of Blackwoods

JohnCBoy - February 3, 2008 01:13 PM (GMT)
In the late 1940s, much like today, there were two groups of Blackwoods traveling the roads singing the gospel.

What were the names of the two groups and what name did they use when the two groups recorded songs together?

That's correct, James.

Now, who wants to identify all the men in the photo?

Wasn't there a Stamps-Blackwood Quartet on the road about that time too?

JohnCBoy - February 6, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
Actually, Danny, they were called the Blackwood Brothers Stamps Baxter Quartet. It was just the regular Blackwood Brothers during the time they were working for the Stamps Baxter Music Company.

Here's a picture from one of the Stamps promotional booklets.
