Ephesians 5:2- "And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor."
As everyone knows, February is the month of the year where we put a special emphasis on love. However, in reality, love should be a lifestyle for us as Christians, not just a one-month-a-year holiday for us to observe. Our lives ought to be examples of Christ's love for us.
How would you describe Christ's love for us? Your answers probably include "wonderful", "unending", "unconditional", etc. However, our text verse describes it in a way that we often fail to think about: "sacrificial". Think of what Christ sacrificed on our behalf, ultimately including His life. He offered Himself willingly so that His blood could pay our sin debt. This sacrificial attitude is the key to our lives truly exemplifying His love.
So, in closing, let me ask you one question: Are you "walking" in love today?
