Title: New Sandwich Day
Kattie E - August 31, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
Aug. 31st is Invent a New Sandwich Day.
What is your fave sandwich or what kind would you invent?
lindasholar - August 31, 2006 08:03 PM (GMT)
My favorite sandwich is the avocado sandwich at Atlanta Bread. Unfortunately, both our Atlanta Bread stores here closed. I haven't found a suitable substitute, and haven't been able to replicate it at home.

The one thing that I missed, at the GOGR this year, was the Atlanta Bread Company. I use to get up every morning and walk down the block for a cheese danish................and other stuff.....lol.
JohnCBoy - September 1, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
I like an egg sammich with tomatoes, mustard and onions.
Kattie E - September 1, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
one of my faves is peanut butter, jelly and clausen pickles slices :kekeke:
pattipagewhite - September 1, 2006 11:36 AM (GMT)
I rarely meet a sandwich I don't like....but I've never met a pb&j with pickles.... :giggle:
My favorite is bacon and tomato...I don't care if there's lettuce or not...with peanut butter and mayhaw jelly high on the list....but so is grilled cheese, scrambled egg, fried bologna, and that's just the simple stuff....

There are a couple of sandwiches that I love:
If I'm in a breakfast kind of mood: livermush, egg, & cheese on toast with mustard.
If I'm in a lunch/supper kind of mood: a corned beef reuben sandwich.

grits64 - September 1, 2006 02:59 PM (GMT)
I like the basics, but I really like peanut butter, banana, and mayo on whole wheat.
And, I love a good chicken salad if its done right.
I dont really try anything strange, but I did try a pimento cheese and tomato..that tasted pretty good.

Our son has been home some this summer, and he taught me a new thing which is surprisingly good:
Grilled cheese sandwich, but the new twist is to put a slice of tomato inside it before grilling. Delicious!
