In the early 1950s, the Blackwood Brothers recorded the song "Journey to the Sky". Personnel on the song was Dan Huskey, James Blackwood, RW Blackwood, Bill Lyles, and Jackie Marshall. However, there is another voice also on the recording. This person also sings a short solo in the song. Who is it?

Actually, Don Smith isn't in that picture. It's Dan Huskey, James Blackwood, Bill Lyles, RW Blackwood, and Jackie Marshall.

Yes he did. He sang "Too Fat Polka", but not the gospel song in question.

Doyle Blackwood is the correct answer.
"highpockets" and I have been working on a Blackwood Brothers project for the past few weeks. When I heard a different voice on that recording, I immediately gave him a call. He confirmed what I suspected. Doyle Blackwood was an added vocalist on the song.
