Title: Tuesday trivia
Description: before the Stamps

Most people remember these two gentlemen from their days with the Plainsmen and/or the Stamps Quartet.

This picture was taken before that time.

Who are these men and what is the name of their group when this picture was taken?

I'll bet they sung patriotic songs. :D

Dean

Easmon Napier and Don Randall.

Mark Stephens - March 4, 2008 04:16 PM (GMT)
That is Easmon Napier and Don Randall.

I have seen the group pic this was cut out of but cannot remember the name of the group.

My memory, "its gets shorter as the years go bye."

Thank you Dean, then I`ll say The All-American Quartet.

The All American Quartet is correct. Thanks, Dean and James.

And they had a pretty fair tenor too.

Isn't that a great old Statesmen song?

Anybody want to take a guess as to who that tenor could be?

Ben Pegues - March 4, 2008 09:07 PM (GMT)
Great picture, John. Bill Shaw was the tenor in that group. I think the picture was taken in early 1952. It would be 5 more years before Easmon would play for a really great tenor!!

Bill Shaw was their tenor, and he later went to The Blackwood Brothers.

I have one old 78 by the All American Qt. on private label singing Wanna Rest and Peace in the Valley, don't think Bill shaw is the tenor sounds more like Happy Edwards but I really don't know who it is. Anyone know the record # is 1205
