The Rocky Mountain Homecoming from the popular Gaither Video series was the
first time versatile singer/songwriter WOODY WRIGHT was cast as a Folk
Singer. "I had recorded County Music, Southern Gospel, even Pop and
Bluegrass, but never something as "Folk" as John Denver's "Back Home Again"
- so when Bill Gaither suggested it, I was a bit surprised. I was surprised
again to find how much people all around the world would love that song"
says Wright. "Then Vonnie and I released "They'll Know We Are Christians By
Our Love" to European radio. The song went to #3 on the UK chart, and now I
have received the UKGMA Radio Mike Award for Folk Male Artist. What a
blessing!"

The UKGMA Awards were held last month in Leighton Buzzard, England, as a
part of the New Christian Music Weekend. Various artists from Europe and
the US participated in the annual event.

Woody and his wife Vonnie will make a trip to Norway in May of this year for
five concerts there, then he travels with Stephen Hill for shows in Holland
later in the year. Then in the fall, the schedule calls for a trip to Faroe
Islands where Woody and Vonnie will participate in the FJARDAFESTIVAL.
