Title: Oak Ridge Quartet
Description: Is this legit?

I did some edits on the Oaks wikipedia entry the oither day and sometime since someone added a tenor that I had never heard of. His name was Steven Kurk . I have never seen his name mentioned to my knowledge. It was listed as 1956-1957, so he must have been there when they broke up before they were started again. I read that Ron Page was hired as bass, but they broke up. Later they got Bill Smith for bass. I didn't notice Bobby Clark listed as tenor, but he should be there somewhere in here too although I think he was there just prior to Smitty temporarily singing it if I have my history and timeline right in my mind. :)

I've never heard that name, Q'man. I'll try to shoot Ron Page and email and see if he remembers him.

I`ve never heard of Steven Kurk either, but I received an email from Willie and he named the Oak Ridge tenors and John Crenshaw said Willie left out Joe Allred, Cat Freeman,Smitty Gatlin and Calvin Newton sang lead-and I believe that to be correct, and here is "Litttle" Willie`s email-

Hi James,

So nice to hear from you.
I do remember recording with your brother.
How is he doing?

To the best of my knowledge, these are the tenors with the Oaks.

Little Johnnie New

Calvin Newton

Hobart Evans

Bobby Clark

Willie Wynn

Joe Bonsal

I may have missed someone.

Have a great day.

Willie

I can't think of any others on your list at the moment. I wonder if Ron Page ever answered. :)

Sorry, Q-man . . . I haven't had the time to contact Ron. I'll let you know when I hear from him.
