Was it Bob Thacker, John?
lindasholar - April 12, 2008 11:39 PM (GMT)
I don't know the answer to the question, but it did cause me to remember a song our family group used to sing in Louisiana, called "Cultivating Flowers". I have no idea who wrote it.

| Pat Patterson. |
The only Pat Patterson I knew who ran a florist was from up around Shelby NC...
JohnCBoy - April 13, 2008 02:45 AM (GMT)
I really expected "Bob Thacker" when I threw out the Weatherford clue. However, this isn't correct. Bob was a barber.
. . . and I think Dean is right. I believe Lee Roy wrote "Cultivating Flowers". The Miracle Men recorded it, and they didn't record many songs that weren't written by Lee Roy.
Any more guesses about the florist? Here's another hint:
If you ever attended gospel concerts at the Reynolds Auditorium, you could have purchased tickets at this Florist located in Greensboro, NC.
James Moore - April 13, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
Well I would name Fred Rose because he had the right name, but I don`t think he sang with the Weatherfords, so I`ll guess Scranton Hall.
JohnCBoy - April 13, 2008 12:12 PM (GMT)
I don't think Scranton Hall ever sang with the Harvesters, James.

That`s what I got to thinking after I post that.

Still not correct, but here's another clue.
This gentleman joined the Harvesters at the same time Earl Brewer joined the quartet.

Dean, it was before CB McClain joined the quartet.
This man only recorded one album with the Harvesters. It was called "Presenting the Harvesters" and was produced by Johnny Carter.
