So whats the gold leaf worth on that Statesmen Hits of the Decades album now a days??
Ben Pegues - April 24, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
About $100-200 depending on condition.

It's been showing up pretty regular on ebay recently

There is one on e-bay now with a bid of $7.50. Is that what we're talking about or is that a different version of the Heartwarming record?

That's the one, Norm. I know the dealer that's selling the LP. He's a very reputable dealer. He's a GOGR guy, too.
The price on that LP has really dropped in the past few years. I remember when a nice copy would be in the $125+ price range, but I haven't seen one sell in that price range in a long time.

That one is the the Heartwarming one with the Gold on it. The other Hits Of The Decade albums were put out on Artistic label with very different looking covers one is with the quartet in white suits with President peanut Carter on it and the second volume has the Statesmen in some very bad polyester suits.

The price of gold has dropped about 11.5% since mid-March. Some experts say that it's going much higher.
I wouldn't be surprised if the album would do the same if the world got a good taste of some of the best in SG Music. The demand, and price, would probably skyrocket. The Gaither videos have probably done fairly well, but that's not the Statesmen--------or the Blackwood Brothers-------or the Harvesters--------or the Plainsmen.
On second thought I better take the BB off the list. It would take a tidal wave of new fans to soak up the current supply.

Mines worth $1.99, the covers in great shape but it has the Jimmy Carter LP in it!!

I'm not a true collector as I'm more interested in owning the music rather than what's on the cover.
I own the version with Jimmy Carter on the cover and I'm fine with that. Regardless of anyone's opinion of him as your president (I'm Canadian), my friends, who have worked with him on Habitat for Humanity builds, say he's a wonderful person.
