What was the name of the group that finally "morphed" into the Prophets?

For extra credit, who were the members of that group?

Kings Men Quartet became the Prophets (March 1959) with Ed Hill, Jay Berry, James Lewis Garrison, Rancell D. Taylor, and Gary Trusler.

Vinylman is absolutely right about the initial Prophets Quartet, according to John's history article on the Prophets in March of 2003. I loved the Prophets, and have said many times before, they were the very first group I saw about 47 years ago.

Jay Berry and Ed Hill were the only two of those that sang with the Kings Men Quartet.

Woody Woodham was the bass.

I thought maybe he would ask a Dottie question today. And I was ready! LOL!

Sorry, stevenson. No Dottie question today.

There are two members of the Kings Men that haven't been mentioned. Any other ideas?
