I Thessalonians 2:15- "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle."
These words from the Apostle Paul were written to encourage the church at Thessalonica. He was saying that, no matter what, they needed to stand fast and be faithful in the things that they had been taught concerning the faith. He knew that things would not always be easy and that, during these times, they would be tempted to compromise or back down. Christians who do this are not effective servants who make an impact for Christ.
This encouragement was not just for the Thessalonian church- it is applicable to us as well. We need to "stand fast" in what Scripture has taught us is right. You see, a failure to do this on the part of many, many Christians over the years is a huge contribution to the state of affairs in today's world. We have backed down and compromised in the face of adversity, and it has weakened our influence for the Lord. In order for our ministries to have an impact for Christ, we must exercise the faith needed to stand firm in the Lord. No matter what, we cannot compromise.
Amen Bro. Chad or should I say Pastor Chad.
Amen, Amen, and Amen!!!!
