I now have a vivid picture in my mind of the CanChik standing in the hall with her nose against the wall. :Chiky Chicken: :Joe doggie:

Shari's memory stirred one up in my mind....when I was in High School, my typing teacher letting me "sneak" out to talk to my boyfriend....it was surprising because she was one of the strictest teachers, but I realized she also was a bit of a "romantic"...I thought she was so old....she probably wasn't as old as I am now...lol

Our school was one that was built by the CCC guys after the war, it was made of big rocks and there was a rock fence all around the campus....I have many memories of times spent around that fence...but I'm not telling details.... :giggle:

I really have many wonderful memories of school....we were so blessed...our biggest fear was falling off the hay wagon at a hayride or something(which I did)..there were no drugs and very little alcohol.....we had so much more liberty to do things, like leaving campus for lunch even in elementary school. You never worried about being kidnapped or shot....pranks were just pranks....not dangerous crimes....what a sad condition our world is in....

I took my lunch in grade school (no lunch box), the best I can remember, and ate the school lunch in high school.

10. What was your favorite recess game?

11. Did you like gym class?
I loved gym class. The gym teacher would make us do exercises, and when he wanted to punish us, he would tell us that we could stop when JoJo started sweating.....

12. Share a memory from your school days with us.
I have a lot of memories......a funny one happened in high school. We had a dance every year, called the Sadie Hawkins Day Dance......where the girls would chase the boys, and if they could pin them, the boy had to take her to the dance. One girl chased me across a large field and I ran into a barbed wire fence trying to get away from her.

Now folks cokes was $0.10 and potato Chips was $0.05 so for $0.15 we could get a coke and chips, but with 9 children in school there was no money for those things. so We had to just watch others. and wish we could have some. Now back then It was a terrible thing not to have any money but Now it is a precious memory.
